Re: Christmas greetings
The trouble with "Those People" in "Those Neighborhoods" is you always find one who has "gotta keep up with the Joneses". You have a wreath on your door, well they gotta have two, then come lights and there it begins. The Frosties, the music, the spotlights and the TSO. We have a light in each window if the front of our house and if the rest of the neighbors (deer, fox, and other wildlife) care to compete with us, go for it!
Re: Christmas greetings
Flo,
Seeing as how it's being held in Indianapolis, Marion County, there are probably:
1. The Bitch Daniels (governor) tax.
2. The Colts (NFL team) tax. (yes, our tax $ supports them.)
3. Percentage for the owner's property tax on the place. (About $100/minute here.)
Last year, the $34 tickets were in the nosebleed section. Kid is terrified of heights, too. I think the good seats like you mentioned were something like $89 then. It literally took 10 minutes to climb up to them.
As for their new album, they can keep that too.

Uncle Flo (imported) wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2008 8:28 am The tickets were $47.00 here (I went - seats so close I could feel the heat of the fire pots) I think the facility where they play has most of the influence over ticket cost. TSO even contributed $1 from each ticket to the food shelf network and played a half hour longer than scheduled so they can't be hurting for pay. At $100.00 I wouldn't go either. --FLO--
I'd love to go see/listen to the Trans Siberian Orchestra on two conditions:
(1) Uncle Flo covers the cost of the tickets.
(2) Daughter goes with me and holds onto me while we freezes our derriere's off.

You might be on to something about the facility. My tickets were about halfway between yours and Paolo's $100. But it is quite a show and the kids enjoyed it, so what the heck. I was a little surprised to see the Siberians had names like Rocco and a New Yoik accent. I was expecting more like Nikita or something.

Daughter doesn't have much of a derriere to freeze off! It's very much completely flat and sometimes I can't even find it! :p
And about that house.... They recently had the guy on the news.. Apparently the neighbors have all gotten together. The first year, he did only his house. The next year he did two. This year he's got three or four, and next year he's got plans to use wi-fi to hook up the three or four houses across the street also.

Re: Christmas greetings
The blinking lights would drive me insane. Also the band that sampled Bing Crosby (White Christmas) and has him rapping?! Thats just wrong in so many ways... Also - Any Jackson 5 Xmas song (We all know if Santa Really was kissing Michales mom Joe Jackson would put his foot up his ass), The Beach Boys Little St Nick and (extra - Horrors) Willy Nelson "singing" about Frosty the Snowman etc.
Proof that there is a Hell! So there must be a Heaven and God above....

randy (imported) wrote: Mon Dec 15, 2008 5:49 pm well my neighbors arent as rich, tasteful, or professional as those people. they have only about 5 different crappily hung light circuits blinking to music playing from a speaker on the roof. granted it does blink to the music and it isnt all that loud but man does it SUCK. they arent exactly my next door neighbor but i can hear the music from my room if i go to bed before 10.
last night i guess the parents were away and it was blinking to a DMX cd in repeat.
I guess somebody had enough of the blinking and blaring and the mess of lights and music were taken down and replaced with a simple set up:
Santa Claus and Frosty the snowman looking up at what appears to be the Star of Bethlehem...........MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!

If you need any help finding it we will send you Yoli.
While Mac and I are probably still capable, if you have the good sense that I think that you have, you would not be consenting to the search...

Re: Christmas greetings
One solution is to pick up and move to one of those little itty bitty desert bergs where only one guy puts up lights and he miss-spells "Bah humbug."
