Christmas greetings
I know this was posted last year, but how would you like this family as next door neighbors this season?

I think that would be a case for justifiable homicide...no jury in California would convict a neighbor for shotgunning all the occupants of that obnoxious house, right down to the house pets and children. Ugh!

this one in the video is actually very well done, and i heard you could only hear the music thru a pirated radio station.
well my neighbors arent as rich, tasteful, or professional as those people. they have only about 5 different crappily hung light circuits blinking to music playing from a speaker on the roof. granted it does blink to the music and it isnt all that loud but man does it SUCK. they arent exactly my next door neighbor but i can hear the music from my room if i go to bed before 10.
last night i guess the parents were away and it was blinking to a DMX cd in repeat.
thanks for the card jesus!
if i was the kind of person that sent out cards you would so get one from me.

I don’t think it’s really the music so much as the flashing lights. I grew up in the citrus region of Southern California (now all covered over with houses and shopping centers). Shortly after the road in front of our house was paved, a Holiness church bought the horse pasture across the street and put up their church. They had a 40-foot FLASHING neon cross and the FLASHING neon words “Jesus Saves” blinking on and off from dusk to dawn. Even with heavy drapes, my bedroom was flashing every night while I tried to sleep. I would have much preferred music!
The church finally moved on after one of the parishioners was struck by a rattlesnake during a Wednesday night service and nearly died because they believed that it was “God’s will” that he be bitten. (See Mark 16:18 for the Biblical reference.) They refused to seek medical attention. Southern California was not nearly liberal enough for them to continue in a public place. I think that their supply of “serpents” was released in the dry wash behind the church. My brother and I certainly ran into enough of them there after the church closed down. We even found one under the couch in our living room and one behind the TV over the next few months. I think that's why my brother finally learned to close the door….
The church site is now a used car lot, and the spot where our house stood is now the parking lot of a Staples office supply.

Re: Christmas greetings
I grew up two blocks from one of those houses and no one complained like you guys -- Jeepers, the living incarnations of Ebenezer Scrooge... bah! Humbug!
Most people looked forward to what Nick was going to install new each year. Sadly, the neighborhood is now filled with old fuddy-duddies and they don't put up lights.

Well Jesus, it would chase away all your invading raccoons
Re: Christmas greetings
I've never had a problem with neighbors and light displays. I have been known to sneak a blinker into someone else's string, though, or 'borrow' a string if I felt they had too many.
As for TSO, they can shove their $100/head concert tickets up their ass.

Re: Christmas greetings
Thank you Jesus! I never heard or saw of the Frisco Lights but it is only about 30 minutes from my house, just north of Dallas. I think I will take the family to check it out soon.

The tickets were $47.00 here (I went - seats so close I could feel the heat of the fire pots) I think the facility where they play has most of the influence over ticket cost. TSO even contributed $1 from each ticket to the food shelf network and played a half hour longer than scheduled so they can't be hurting for pay. At $100.00 I wouldn't go either. --FLO--
