A new way to clean the Toilet
1 . Put both lids of the toilet up and add 1/8 cup of pet shampoo to the water in the bowl.
2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.
3. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close both lids.
(You may need to stand on the lid.)
4. The cat will self agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from the toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this.
5. Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a "power-wash" and rinse".
6. Have someone open the front door of your home. Be sure that there are no people between the bathroom and the front door.
7 Stand behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift both lids.
8. The cat will rocket out of the toilet, streak through the bathroom, and run outside where he will dry himself off.
9. Both the commode and the cat will be sparkling clean.

Re: A new way to clean the Toilet
This is a true story, and I'm certain I've told it before:
I had a long hair black cat. For some reason, he would come into the bathroom while I was sitting on the toilet and jump into the bathtub to play, while I was on the toilet.
Well -- one day I filled the tub with water for a bath first before sitting on the toilet. In came the cat. He walked over to the bathtub and jumped in. Of course, you'd have to see the look on his face to fully appreciate this; but he he stood there for a minute -- stock still -- water up to his neck; then came straight up out of the tub and landed in his cat litter box, covering himself with cat litter. All I saw next was a black streak headed out the bathroom door.

Re: A new way to clean the Toilet
We have a large outdoor hot tub at our place. Our newest (and youngest) cat likes to walk on the rim of the tub while the wife and I are using it. Every now and then the cat slips on the slick plastic rim and falls in, proving that cats can swim just fine. We do have to be sure to stay out of the way of the wildly paddling claws!

First, that was funny, thanks Ken
Rupert is not like most cats, he dosent mind a little water, if its a lite rain and his choise is to stay in the house, its into the rain he goes because playing outside is better then playing inside. More than once I have had to towel him off when he comes in. That he doesent like.
He is a strange cat.

My cat, Amos, likes to stand under a downspout every time that it rains. As soon as he's dripping wet he comes to the door and meows to get in. As soon as he's toweled off (which he loves), he meows to go back outside to stand under the downspout again.
REPEAT until you can't stand it any more!
p.s.: My son originally named Amos "Asshole". After a long argument, he was willing to settle for "Anus". I think that's still his official name, though we call him "Amos" in polite company.

Re: A new way to clean the Toilet
I just DARE River to try either of those with Rupert.....though, since our Riverwind is a 60 year OLD man now, he might want to wear protective clothing....like maybe a kevlar jacket and gloves.

Re: A new way to clean the Toilet
Sometimes I take care of cat that usually cohabits with a friend of mine, for a few weeks at at time while she is on holiday or something.
He is very sceptical of water. I sometimes suspect he doesn't even drink it, because the level in his bowl dosn't seem to diminish.
But in my old appartment, when I showered every morning, he would come in and sit on the lid of the toilet opposite the shower stall until I was finished. Then I would hear him get clear well before i would move the showercurtain. Curious but not stupid...
One day he just HAD to check it. So he jumped up to the windowsill, navigated around toothpaste and other stuff and suddenly his face appeared over the showercurtain.
The look in his face said: "Soooo, you really are pouring water all over you, just as I suspected. How's that working out for you then?"
