Here's a chance for you to contribute to the body of knowledge about castration (surgical or chemical):
Does removal of testosterone make one less inhibited? That seems to have happened to me, and I'd like to hear from others. My psychiatrist has little knowledge in the area of hormones and isn't as quick to cite homones (or lack thereof) as the cause of personality changes.
Thanks in advance,
Terri
P.S. -- To those considering castration: Yes, I said "my psychiatrist." You may think you don't need one prior to castration, but your family may think you need one afterward. :-\

I believe for those that find castration (and the removal of testosterone) is right for them, the answer is probably yes.
In my case I know I became much more open to others and in general a lot more outgoing. That does not mean I became any more reckless, on the contrary, I felt a sense of purpose and harmony within myself. However, I can't rule out that estrogens may have been a factor in all of this too. As my T levels went down, my E levels were rising.

My psychiatrist hasent got a clue either, he thinks I have a gender Identify problem. When my regular medical doctor saw this in my file he told me, we both had a great laugh. I see this joker next monday and I know we are going to have a chat.
Back to your question, I guess your ups and down are greater in each direction, I think the biggest change is that you are finally who you have always been so you no longer need to put up a front. I think this causes you to like yourself better so I guess the answer is yes.
