A couple who lived near the ocean went to the beach one summer for a week. They noticed a girl who was on the beach nearly everyday, carrying a travel bag who would approach people sitting on the beach, glance around and speak to them.
Sometimes she was rejected but other times there would be a quick exchange of money for something in her bag. The couple watching assumed she was selling drugs and debated calling the police.
After a few days of seeing her, the wife said to her husband, "Honey, have you noticed she only goes up to couples with boom boxes"?
She said, "go get our big radio out of the car and go lie on the beach so we can see what she really is doing"?
The girl approached her husband, talked for a few and left. Soon the husband walked back over to his wife.
"Well, is she selling drugs"? she asked with anticipation.
Her husband grinned and said, "she's a battery sales person and her name is Sally."
"Batteries," cried the wife
"Yes," her husband replied.
Sally sells C cells by the seashore.
