Story Submissions not Working
Story Submissions not Working
Right now, the Archive is not able to accept new stories. None of the editing tools work either. Please don't submit anything new until Talula has had time to stop screaming and look into it. Thank you.

Re: Story Submissions not Working
I guess that this is as good a place to submit the following comments as any.
Last night, I submitted a story titled "The London Adventure of Thomas Rakewell, Esq. - 1732" Everything which could have gone wrong did. I couldn't extract the stort from Word Pad to cut-and-paste it into the New Story submission form, so I had to type it in. As soon as I finished typing the synposis, without my doing anything to bring it about, the font changed. Unable to change it back to what I had been using, I typed the story in a larger unidentified font. When I had typed about 2/3 of it, I left the computer for a moment. When I returned, the story was gone !. After much searching, I found it, far to the left of where it had been, far outside of the space provided. I brought it back into the box and continued typing it. When I had finished it, I previewed the story and found that the format was utterly haywire. The story was 4 screen widths wide and less than one screen height high. I found no way to correct the format, so I decided that Paolo or whoever reviewed it might be able to correct the problem. When I read the version of the story published in the Archive this morning, I found that about 2/3 of it is missing. The story begins at about the place where I began typing again after "losing" last night. I know that Paolo doesn't want to delete stories, but, as it is, THE STORY DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE ! , Please delete this mess and, if you can't find the rest of the story, just forget the whole thing. I hate to have my name appear as author of this pointless tale.

Re: Story Submissions not Working
When you type something up in Word, Wordpad, Corel, whatever, there is a very nice feature therein called SAVE or SAVE AS so that you can come back to the text that you typed up even years later. It saves the text file to your hard drive. It's really cool. And you can always delete the saved file later on.
A word to the wise -
If copy/paste won't work, hit SAVE then reboot the PC. Try again.
NEVER NEVER NEVER type the story in the submissions box only. If something goes wrong, it's GONE GONE GONE.
Get the idea?
Thanks.
