Effects of castration

I received the following message from one of our lurkers....

:luv2lurk:

'Hello, I just have one question. The effects you listed all are the things that i have been looking for. The question is are these effects for surgical and chemical castration?"

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Both. The effects I listed are caused by ultra-low levels of testosterone in the male body. These ultra-low levels can be caused by surgical removal of the testicals, or anti-androgen drugs that shut down the testicles.

Wow! You mean someone's been looking for weight gain, depression and osteoporosis? I'm impressed.

lol Hey- I'm female and its not all THAT bad not having a ton of testosterone. In fact, makes the singing voice quite nice.

Speaking of that, I guess we must produce SOMEthing that keeps us from osteoperosis pre-menopause, and keeps up some sort of sex drive. I was on depo-provera for one shot's worth a couple years ago and that was horrible. Hot flashes, mood swings, etc.

Oh- and about weight gain, I suppose we women do have to work harder to keep thin, but it must just be what you're used to. And people's bodies have different metabolisms anyway.

(Guess its estrogen responsible for these things- sex drive and weight gain....)
