Thanks to the Eunuch Archive

Post by TerryUK (imported) »

Hi to all my fellow eunuchs and to my Friends who are thinking of being castrated.

I lost my balls yesterday morning at 9.40 a.m. British Summer Time ( that is, at 3.30 a.m. Central Standard Time). I am now a eunuch. I feel really excited at having just typed those words. I shall spell it out again:

I AM A EUNUCH.

I set my alarm clock for 5.20 a.m. so that we could be at the hospital in good time. It was just a 21 mile drive. My wife came with me so that she could drive me back. We arrived at the hospital at 7.30 a.m. so we were in very good time for our appointed time of 8.0 a.m. We were shown up to our private room with en-suite facilities. I had my blood pressure and pulse checked. I changed into a hospital gown and was provided with a dressing gown to put over it. The surgeon came a few minutes before 9.0 a.m. with the consent form for me to sign.

I walked to the operating suite and climbed onto a hospital trolley. A nurse swabbed the scrotum. I was not shaved in that area. The surgeon came in and injected local anaesthesia into the scrotum and into the two cords. A diathermy pad was strapped to my leg. I was pushed into the operating room and transferred to the table. The surgeon was gowned and masked and had a nurse, also gowned and masked, to assist him. A second nurse was seated by my head. She put her hand on my shoulder so that she would feel if I tensed with any pain. She chatted to me throughout the procedure. I felt a little pain in my groin when the surgeon pulled on the left cord. A little more anaesthetic stopped any more pain and I felt nothing at all at the removal of the right testicle. I couldn't see a clock but I checked the time with the nurse. The second testicle was removed at 9.40 a.m. and I was now a eunuch.

Before leaving the OR, a scrotal support was fitted. I climbed down from the operating table into a wheel chair and was wheeled back to my room. I was given my balls in a container with a preservative liquid to take away with me.

Back in my room, I was brought a cup of tea and later some sandwiches. My wife had waited in the room while I was in the operating suite. The surgeon came to check that everything was OK and I got dressed and left at 12 noon with my wife driving me back home.

I know that it will be painful when the anaesthetic wears off but I really do feel great that I am now a eunuch having lost my balls under the surgeon's knife.

Again, my thanks to the eunuchs who helped me to come to the decision that I should be surgically castrated. I must particularly thank all those eunuchs who have set up and who maintain the Eunuch Archive. The postings to the Archive from eunuchs who know just what is all about have really helped me decide that I should become a eunuch.

Thanks again.

Terry, Many many congratulations! It's less than 24 hours since your new life began and I thank you for being so willing to share your experience.

You prove, I assume the surgery was NHS, that surgical castration does occur

and I'm very happy both that you were looked after so well and that you've done

it. How typically English to be back in bed with tea and sandwiches before coming home. Many, many congratulations - I hope you will be showered here with praise! Here's to that statistically longer life you should now enjoy.

Three questions - what was the "scrotal support"?

Did you have long to wait on the waiting list?

Are you planning to steer well clear of HRT, unless medically necessary?

Good luck and much happiness Terry.

Congratulations!

Whenever you recover enough, please share more about the process leading up to the castration -- how did you go about getting a proper surgical castration? How did you bring this up with your wife? What was your motivation? etc.

Sorry, but inquiring minds want to know ...

Plus how about a picture of those nuts in a jar!

Cheers.

Your welcome. Of course, your journey as a eunuch has just started, and there WILL be some ups and downs along the way. I hope you will stay with the EA and that we can help you out. 👌

I'm so Happy that you have finally managed to become a eunuch. I hope the recovery goes well, just make sure you take the antibiotics as directed and you should be all set.

CONGRADULATIONS TERRY

I know that feeling, it brought back memories of my castration a year ago. I can see the smile on your face by your writing.

Please tell us more about yourself and how you got a doctor in the UK to do this surgery. The cost, are you going on HRT, etc.

Drop by the chat room and visit with us, there are several eunuchs that are in there most evenings.

Again, way to go.

Prostate cancer was involved.

Hi everyone

Thanks for the responses to my original message.

It is just two days since I was castrated. It really was a five-star experience. I was fully conscious during the procedure which was carried out under a local anaesthetic. I can say that I really enjoyed it. So far, at two days post-op., I have not had any pain worth talking about.

I live in England, so how come that I have been castrated in a hospital. The story starts two years ago. I thought that I ought to have a routine medical check-up. After all, I take my automobile (we call it a car in England) for a check every 12 months. The blood tests showed a slightly elevated PSA level of 7 (normal is below 4). In December 2001, just two weeks before Christmas, I was told that tissue biopsies of my prostate showed cancer cells. Because I have private medical insurance, things moved quickly. In January I was seen by the physician who would be overseeing my radiotherapy. He prescribed a 3-weeks course of cyproterone acetate tablets. Those living in the US will know this drug as 'Androcur'. It is an antiandrogen.

When I got home I read the "Patient Instruction Leaflet". It told me that the drug "blocks the action of male sex hormones (androgens). It also reduces the amount of male sex hormones produced by the body." When I read this, I suddenly thought, "Wow, I am about to become a eunuch!" I couldn't sleep that night. I had never previously thought about castration and now I was about to become a eunuch. I was very excited.

In the morning over breakfast I told my wife that the drug I was about to take would turn me, even if only temporarily, into a eunuch. My wife's reaction was simply that she was glad that I was not worried because I had cancer. She did not like the sound of "eunuch". It was rather a harsh sound she thought. We agreed that being "gelded" sounded better. I went to my computer and typed "eunuch" into a search engine and so found the Eunuch Archive. I read the postings there over the next 20 months and I exchanged messages with a number of eunuchs. This confirmed my resolve to be castrated and so become a eunuch.

After three weeks on Androcur, I was injected with an implant of another drug used for the treatment of prostate cancer. This was goserelin with the name of 'Zoladex LA'. The information leaflet told me that, "In men by around 21 days after the first depot injection, testosterone levels have fallen to within the castrate range and remain suppressed with treatment every 12 weeks." In a way, using a depot injection was rather like surgical castration in that, once the implant was in my body, it would be releasing the testosterone reducing drug into my body and there was nothing I could do about it until the implant had been totally absorbed after 12 weeks.

Also in 2002, I had 28 sessions of radiotherapy spread over seven weeks.

I felt very happy with the effects of being chemically castrated. The last implant of Zoladex LA was implanted in November 2002. By March 2003 the effects of the drug were beginning to wear off. I was seeing the urologist every 12 weeks to check on my prostate cancer. The PSA level had fallen to 0.1 after the radiotherapy and remained at 0.1.

When I saw the urologist, I mentioned castration. Although castration is a recognised treatment for prostate cancer, especially once cancer cells have escaped from the prostate and are invading other tissues in the body, there was no evidence of this in me and the 0.1 PSA levels indicated that the cancer had been controlled. There was no reason why I should be castrated.

I was due to see the urologist on September 3. My wife and I discussed my castration. I was keen to experience again the 'castrate calm' I had known as a chemical castrate. I wrote to my urologist before we were due to meet. In that letter I wrote, "This letter is to confirm that I wish to be castrated and I should like to discuss arrangements for surgery when we meet. I have talked this over with my wife. She is in agreement that I should be castrated and will be coming with me on the 3rd September."

When my wife and I met the surgeon on September 3, there was no discussion. He simply asked me, "Are you sure you want to go ahead with this?" I said that I did and my wife agreed. The surgeon got out his diary and we fixed a date. I was castrated on September 22.

In reply to some specific questions.

The surgery was not carried out under the UK's National Health Service. I was a fee-paying private patient in a private hospital. I was able to choose a date for the procedure which was convenient for me. I don't yet know what the cost will be. I am still waiting to receive the bill.

I was not shaved before being castrated and I was not given any antibiotic cover. Provided the surgery is carried out under sterile conditions, neither is necessary. The scrotum support is a open-weave bag into which my scrotum is fitted very snugly and the bag is supported from an adjustable belt around my waist. It feels quite comfortable. I have no plans to take any HRT.

And about a picture of "those nuts in a jar". I have the jar and the nuts. It is a case of getting hold of a digital camera so that I get the photo and then posting it on this Archive.

I shall be happy to answer any specific questions. My email address is: terence@fernside.u-net.com

Again, thanks to the Eunuch Archive for helping to make my castration possible.

regards to all

I was wondering how you managed to get an operation in the UK- well done and congratulations! If you want, I could come along and take a photograph but I only use the (old) professional film but it is possible to scan the prints- heck I might even go out and buy a digital camera!

Cheers
