THere are days when I must do certain physical things are are rather ugly and that's when I watch goofy trash.
HE MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE
The Good Thing: It's a two day rental
The Bad Thing: It's a two day rental
IT has Frank Langella as Skeletor. I can't think of another actor who could play under all that makeup and be a believable crazed villain. He's good but then, he's Frank Langella. ANd Billy Barty gets top billing at the opening titles. Now that's funny.
They have energy weapons and can't aim them. Shots fly everywhere but at opponents.
The evil army wears cast-off, second hand, flat-painted, black plastic star wars storm trooper uniforms.
So the plot is shitty and hackneyed but then the plot was written for 10 and 12 year olds.
The dialog is comic book and cartoony but then it always was a comic book and a cartoon.
one thing I did notice is that Dolph Lungren's body changes from "oily and filthy" to "oily and clean" to and then "sweaty and bulging" ... sex sells.
And Lundgren's accent is so awful as to be laughable in nearly all circumstances but when he is in a scene with Frank Langella and they both speak, it's just awful. Not only that, Skeletor has all the good lines.
and my last word is I have fun watching it.
