a most embarrassed Dave really craps on a movie

THere are days when I must do certain physical things are are rather ugly and that's when I watch goofy trash.

HE MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE

The Good Thing: It's a two day rental

The Bad Thing: It's a two day rental

IT has Frank Langella as Skeletor. I can't think of another actor who could play under all that makeup and be a believable crazed villain. He's good but then, he's Frank Langella. ANd Billy Barty gets top billing at the opening titles. Now that's funny.

They have energy weapons and can't aim them. Shots fly everywhere but at opponents.

The evil army wears cast-off, second hand, flat-painted, black plastic star wars storm trooper uniforms.

So the plot is shitty and hackneyed but then the plot was written for 10 and 12 year olds.

The dialog is comic book and cartoony but then it always was a comic book and a cartoon.

one thing I did notice is that Dolph Lungren's body changes from "oily and filthy" to "oily and clean" to and then "sweaty and bulging" ... sex sells.

And Lundgren's accent is so awful as to be laughable in nearly all circumstances but when he is in a scene with Frank Langella and they both speak, it's just awful. Not only that, Skeletor has all the good lines.

and my last word is I have fun watching it.

I don't understand Spanish at all (almost) but that is one noisy youtube ...

And yes, HeMan and SheRa were always a bit gay and princess sparklepony with all of their antics. It was up there with MY LITTLE PONY, PRINCESS MOON, and POKEMAN.

I don't know it y'all remember but POKEMAN's first show caused kids to have epileptic seizures and was nearly never shown again.

I wish I was bored...

I wish hard to be bored...

I really want to be bored...

This passes for getting as bored as possible:

Last night, I got word that certain publishers are going out of business and when current supplies of the anthologies my stories appear in sell out, there will be no more. So I had to create a large table of stories and anthologies and check if I had them on the shelf. Talk about tedious and mind-numbing... Turns out that I gave away 12 of them as Christmas Gifts. SO I ordered replacements for the missing anthologies all on one order from Amazon and I joked that Amazon would ship them one at a time, 12 boxes. Well that was unkind because Amazon is shipping them in 4 boxes.

Like watching paint dry.

This morning the "fill me" light came on my water tank and I had to order and wait for 5000 gallons of water to be delivered. THey drive a truck up to the end of my driveway and then they run 4 inch hoses to the tank and pump water through it into the tank.

Like watching a garden hose, but bigger. I'm thrilled from the tips of my toes to the tips of my toes. I do this about every three months.

Then after a plain hamburger dinner, I noticed my Air Conditioner stopped and the house was getting warm. My air conditioner is in the attic since I have no basement in my house. So I turn the breakers on and off, flick the tiny dial, flip the switches, yada, yada, yada...

I called a repairman and one came out. Turns out that AC unit in the attic has a catch basin for the condensers because they drip copious amounts of water. It was filled and blocked and not draining. In order so it doesn't overflow and ruin the ceiling, it has a float switch that turns off the unit.

It only cost me $175 in service call.

I wish I was bored.

Now there's shit on TV tonight.

whimper, whimper... I am bored.

http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/pict ... s-20130502

SO here is Rolling Stone Magazine's 10 worst superhero movies:

10. DAREDEVIL, 2003,

Ben Affleck's nadir

9. HULK, 2003

curiously starring Eric Bana and a plot that would shame 1000 monkeys with typewriters.

8. CATWOMAN, 2004

With Halle Berry -- I"ve never seen this movie. Don't want to hurt my delicate psyche.

7. ELECTRA, 2005

Even tits and ass couldn't save this "sequel" to DAREDEVIL. I've also never seen this movie.

6. FANTASTIC FOUR, 2005

I've watched this several times and it's like the Bickersons meet the idiot savants. Stop arguing, please.

5. SUPERMAN RETURNS, 2006

With Brandon Routh... It kept the weakest parts of the original superman and discarded all the good stuff. Then it repeated the plot origin plot like mindlessly repeated...

4. X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, 2009

What a confused pile of hundreds of intricate plots and thousands of embarrassing bits of dialog.

3. THE LAST AIRBENDER, 2010

M. Night Shyamalan's afterbirth squashed like road kill and splattered on the screen.

2. THE GREEN HORNET, 2011

This is the movie that made me hate Seth Rogan and his constant "slacker/stoner" act... I've only seen parts but I if made me want to rip out my eyeballs. AIRBENDER didn't do that. Airbender I can watch but this, this movie harms the brain and hurts the eyes and makes hemorrhoids try to exit your ass. That's the sugar coated opinion.

1. THE GREEN LANTERN, 2011

I had hope for about thirty seconds but then it sank into cliche and hackneyed plots and stupid character developing into a more stupid character. I mean that self-sacrifice plot has been done over and over for 2000 years and done better.

Why do you have water trucked in instead of using a well?

On the big island of Hawaii they use a catch system = rain water off the roof into a big tank that you then treat and pump into your house. The reason you don't have a well is because there is no water below you or its so deep the cost of getting it is way more expensive then having it delivered.

I live out in the countryside. when I bought the land there was no water service or sewer service. So I had a well drilled down to 300 feet to get water. It was never a fast well and if I had guests or ran two loads of laundry and a bath, it caused trouble. After about 20 years, it was running slower so I had a 5000 gallon tank installed to replace a well. ABout five years later, the township ran city water. My house sits so far back from the road that it will cost me $10,000 plus for just the copper pipe. Not even the labor. In a few years, I might go to city water but only if I don't have to run copper pipe. I also have a septic tank and a drainage field for it. There are no city sewers.

I came back to add: I have the option to use catch basins and rain water but when using that system you need a water purifier inside the house -- that consists of ion exchange, sand filters, and UV germ killer. There's Giardia lamblia and other bacteria in this rainwater.

I am not sure just what they add to the water/filtering system there in Hawaii however everybody has a catch system because that is the only water there is, the good news is it rains about 9 to 15 inches a month every month as it rains some every night.
