flipping the cooper-mini over backward

>>This is Impressive... The sound is awful on this and just when you think its done and credits are rolling, wait, be patient, they show the jump in real time and you can see the jacked-up suspension on the Mini-Cooper. I guess that raises it from ground level to knee-high if you know what I mean...

Interesting... And if you look closely, the cooper is heavily modified. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EM2GPlwseOc - see here at about 0:40 - looks like a fully new suspension, new axles. And it is now seemingly a rear wheel drive.

So, from the original car... looks like it is only a body from it.

But still impressive...

LOL I just showed this vid to my son who said the exact same thing, great minds and all but still it was a 360 flip of a car no matter how you modify it.

What truly amazed me was not the height of the jump or that they got the car to do a complete 360, it's the forward momentum of the car that moves it just enough to not crash. In this case "modified" is an understatement.

That stunt takes either a crazy man or a death wish...

I am sure they worked out the math involved way before they actually tried this, computer generated and all. Actually it was safe for the most part, only a bad landing could have injured the driver but being in a roll cage it was safe, NOW for crazy men with a death wish you need to watch the Daytona 500 this weekend, driving 200mph and bump drafting the whole way and three lanes side by side while doing it. NOW That is Crazy. Go fast Turn Left.

I don't watch a lot of nascar or F1 (I do love to watch either, for different reasons... ), but when I do watch the bloodsport bump-and-grind of Nascar, it's a barrel of fun.

One of the funniest things I ever heard was when they were playing a bit of car-radio banter.

This was years ago, and I forget what driver it was, but in the middle of the spotters calling out positions and the driver talking back, there was a brief pause, and then then you could hear the driver mutter just loud enough,

"I think I'll make a left just up here...."

Pffffffftpthpthph.... I laughed beer out my nose.
