My last Pittsburgh Symphony concert of the calendar year

Post by Dave (imported) »

Gil Shaham the violinist was soloist today and he played Mozart's Violin Concerto #5 which is sublimely beautiful.

For an encore, he brought the symphony for fiery, brilliant Non-Mozart piece of Turkish music that thrilled everyone.

You can find various artists playing this on the internet and it's worth the listen... Just when you think that you have Mozart's music figured out and you know what's next he changes and does something of even greater beauty or something that delights the ear as unexpected and happier.

Then the Symphony played Tchaikovsky's 1st Symphony (Winter Dreams) Gorgeous piece of music

Look on the internet for the complete version -- about 43 minutes
