The Goldbergs. Burns and Allen. Jack Benny.

These shows meet all of Moi's criteria. It says a lot that they're all from a bygone era.

I think every ethnic group goes through a "cute" period, when they're not fully assimilated but they've been embraced as part of the American family. Their ethnic characteristics become the subject of sentimental humor, which is relished by the assimilating younger generation. The children and grandchildren of immigrants and outsiders show rueful affection for their half-embarrassing, half-beloved heritage. The Irish, Italians, Jews and others went through this. Nowadays TV and movies about black people are flourishing.

Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman

Little House on the Prairie

Touched by an Angel

Some of the later ones were still profitable.

It seems to be an abandoned area like "the Western".

Moi

Roma Downey is so cute I can forgive her for being short.

Additions

Love comes softly series and spin offs.

The Good Witch movies.

And of course Bunheads. It left me feeling good. Always a little dancing, not overbearing.

But, this one was just placed at the end of an episode seemingly detached until someone interpreted it is about Sasha's life changes and she can't go back.

Only the central dancer is a regular.

When I was a small child, living on the east coast, there was a local Philadelphia puppet show called Burty the Bunyip that I was crazy about. No one ever explained what a bunyip was and that added to my interest.

Somewhat later: The Smurfs.

I haven't watched TV in at least 3 years so I haven't a clue what's on now.

Somehow wholesome never much appealed to me. How about suggestions for, not the most unwholesome, but the most subversive shows. The ones that reflected the foibles of our civilization, our hypocrisy, our two faced behavior. I would suggest TWTWTW (That Was The Week That Was, w/ Tom Lehrer), the Smothers Brothers' Comedy Hour, MASH, the Simpsons, the Tonight Show (when Johnny Carson was in residence), All In the Family. Any others?

Hi hi.

for me it is about human nature. About learning how we act, and how we sort it out.

bouth have a strong sence of moral, they bout work for there friends, and it show a fait that is admireble.

It make me feel good, that there are series on tv. that go into the dark side of human mentality. And find a tru value in the things they do.

Broad sword death scenes. as you call it. make me look at my past. and the history of my land(norway) and show me how we have to fight for what we belive in.

And tru hard strugle all can be done.

For me all the series above. Give me a happy feeling. It give me belive in the force of nature.

And the strenght of all people.

Maby you find it wrong, but for me it is just that way.
