"The Walking Dead" Season 3 premiere (Sun., Oct. 14 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC) is full of zombies. There are literally hundreds of Walkers in "Seed": tegular walkers, prisoner walkers, officer walkers -- you name it, they're there, moaning and groaning, trying to eat Rick Grimes and his band of zombie apocalypse survivors. According to AMC, there were 218 zombie extras used in the "Walking Dead" Season 3 premiere. Glen Mazzara has heard your pleas, "Walking Dead" fans.

Everybody does some killing. Yep, Lori, Carol, Carl and Maggie join in on the zombie bashing fun. In fact, Maggie takes down quite a few Walkers. Carl is no longer regulated to be watched (read: roam around on his own) by somebody.

Michonne and Andrea are still "Thelma & Lousie"-ing it up. However, it's not all road trips and summer breezes; these ladies are in some serious trouble. Also, Michonne is as awesome as you hoped.

There are new opening credits. Don't worry, they're still really creepy.

Lori's still whining, but she has a legitimate fear now and it's about her baby.

There's a zombie bite ... but not necessarily a death.

Everybody is still really dirty. And sweaty. Yet their cars, particularly a Hyundai, is perfectly clean. There's a car wash but no shower? Hmmm ...

"The Walking Dead" Season 3 premieres on Sun., Oct. 14 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.

EPisode three ranks as one of the bloodiest episodes of any show ever filmed.

Not for those with weak stomachs.

Episode #5 has two or three of the creepiest scenes I've ever watched tonight.

One was a zombie arena with chained zombies and two humans for entertainment...

Another was a father/daughter moment that might have scarred my mind permanently for anything being creepier...

The third was, well, that last scene, damn, gag, ugh, OMG that looked like a pregnant zombie -- run away, run far away...

I thought after last week there wasn't a climactic show left in the writers...

All right. I just realized that my DVR betrayed me. My cable provider changed what channel AMC is broadcast on, and my DVR didn't know it. I've missed 5 episodes!!! Aaarrg!

Well... I guess this is why Bit-torrent exists. I'm off to do some downloading.

Ever hear of not letting the cat out of the bag on episodes that aired on a given date until at least the next day?

Some of us work in the evening and have to postpone viewing. Least you could do is start off with "spoiler alert" at the beginning of your message. ;)

I can guarantee that you didn't get enough information to act as a spoiler.

And bear in mind that you can see these posts and not read them until you watch the episodes. It's not like I title the posts with important information other than the show's title. Don't read the post from Sunday night or Monday until you've seen the episode.

Here's the facts...

AMC runs the episode at 9pm with an extra minute, a repeat at 10 pm without that extra whatever and then a 30 minute live talk show with a web show right thereafter. The TWEETERS are running throughout the 9pm and 10pm and the talk show with special tags as spoilers. You are in danger from them.

I thought Episode #4 was worthy of an entire season finale. It was that good and that brilliantly written. It was a stunner of proportions I haven't even hinted at in this thread.

Episode #5 comes on just as strong and brutally revealing and it hasn't even begun to deal with the fallout of episode #4 on each character... But yet again, it could dramatically be the season finalle with everything that occurs. However, it's not...

And I haven't even hinted at spoilers about the really creepy parts of #4 and #5.

And this is real SPOILER ALERT written in semi-invisible text:

The last zombie in episode #5 is so bloated because it ate the dead Lori and that the room we see Sheriff Rick reach in his zombie killing spree. The THING he picks up is the bullet that his kid used to put his mother down so she wouldn't become a zombie. Curiously, Andrew Sullivan keeps that crushed bullet in his pocket nowadays. It's his creepy memento of the episode. The zombie is covered in Lori parts and bloated with her as a dinner. That's why Rick slashes the zombies stomach. You can see Lori's hair and pieces parts all over the zombie's mouth and teeth if you look closely... Even writing those words is horrific and gag-inducing.

Bit-Torrent didn't fail me, and I am now caught back up with the show.

So far, much better than last season. I was a bit put off last season, as they all had such a nice place to live on the farm, and the "walkers" were so underplayed. How they handled the part of Sofia was particularly hard for me to watch. I almost stopped watching at that point.

The prison is a much better venue, and it feels like it is much more something they have to fight and sacrifice for, instead of just a nice place they find.

Michonne is a wonderful character, and I like that they are keeping her a mystery. Keep her like Boba Fett before the Star Wars prequels. Not knowing anything about him, except that Vader told him specifically, "No Disintegrations!" made the fans go wild with speculation. That mystery is always more exciting than knowing the truth.

How did Michonne become so bad-ass? Who were her two pack-mule zombies? Where did she get the sword? Was she a soldier or a criminal? So many questions, and I do not want them answered. The mystery is better.

I am reminded of Joss Whedon's movie "Serenity". There was a character named Shepard Book. He was a preacher, but for some reason he knew how to fight, he knew strategy, and he knew a lot about how the evil alliance worked. At one point in the Firefly TV series, he got them all safely on and off an Alliance carrier, just by showing his ID. Who was he? How did he accomplish all of that? At one point in the movie Captain Mal tells Book, "You'll have to tell me one day how you know all this." Book responds, "No. I don't." Book dies with his secrets intact.

That is how they need to handle Michonne. Whatever her past is, it does not matter in the world of the Walking Dead. I don't ever want them to explain her.

I too have noticed all the product placement shots of perfectly clean, brand new vehicles. I guess they have to pay for the show somehow. It is a lot better than them all using the latest 4G phone from Samsung, and always drinking Coca-Cola with the label aimed perfectly at the camera. I can accept that a band of struggling survivors found a few abandoned car lots, and took a new vehicle or three for themselves. It would make more sense than constantly running around in an old camper van that is constantly breaking down. Also, finding some hybrids that don't make much noise on the road is probably a good survival strategy.

So far, I rate this season with a 9 out of 10. I can't wait for the next episodes, now that I have my DVR sorted out.

I've never seen Walking Dead. Is it recommended?

I recently found Sons of Anarchy, and I'm watching all of them. A very good show.

If you can, start from the first episode of WALKING DEAD.

Part of the emotional impact of the show is that society is falling apart and the characters fight against both the zombies and the collapse of civilization.

It is bloody, gory, and emotionally rough but the story is well written and the characters compelling.
