A woman in Bangladesh cut off her would-be attacker's penis.

That's one tough mother.

A Bangladesh woman, Monju Begum, said she cut off her neighbor's penis when he forced his way into her shanty and attempted to rape her, the BBC reported.

He said it's all just a lovers' quarrel gone horribly violent.

Begum, a married mother of three, said that Mozammel Haq Mazi had been harassing her for months – and when he allegedly forced his way into her house, she tried to fight him, cut his penis off and put it in a bag, the BBC reported.

Mazi was admitted to a nearby hospital, while Begum took the severed organ to the police station as evidence.

"She said she fought back and cut off his penis and brought it to our police station in a polythene bag to prove that Mr. Mazi tried to rape her," a police spokesman told the BBC.

He said he expected Mazi to be arrested and charged once his condition improved.

Mazi, a father of five, denied the allegations and said the two were having an affair and Begum wanted to run away together.

"I refused and told her that I cannot leave my wife and children, so she took revenge on me," he said.

A surgeon said efforts to reattach the organ were unsuccessful.

Here's what I think must have happened. I think he must have forced her down and I think as part of her plan, she allowed it. I think he then undid his pants and was so sexually aroused that he didn't see her grab a knife. I think as he was having an orgasm, she slid the knife down, grabbed his penis and sliced it off in one quick motion. The penis really doesn't give a lot of resistance to cold sharp as a razor steel. That's one possibility. Here's another. I think she was having an affair with him, but because he refuses to leave his wife, in anger she seduces him, maybe she gets him drunk, maybe she ties him up, or maybe she starts to play with his penis, then with his eyes closed and being sexually stimulated, she grabs the knife and in one swift motion slices off his member. While he writhes in pain and agony, she takes his penis and plops it into a plastic bag! Triumphant, she takes her trophy penis to the police and makes up the story about rape.

"Police brought his severed penis several hours after the incident," he said.

"We are treating him so that he can urinate normally without the penis."

Well, he'll never urinate normally as a male without the penis. He'll have to squat like a woman. Not that that's a bad thing. I do wonder what the police thought about getting a penis in a bag presented to them. Can you imagine the conversation? "Officer(s), I was raped and so I cut off the man's penis, here it is!" The penis is plopped down on the desk. Not believing her, the officer(s) open the bag and pull out the penis, using gloves of course. After several hours of examination they determine it to be a real human penis, grossed out after handling and with some humor, they decide to send it over to the hospital, but by then it's too late to reattach. Instead of disposing of the penis, the doctors preserve it in some solution and send it back to the police to use as evidence. Or maybe they hand it back to Mr. Mazi, "Here's your penis back!"

Regarding how he could have let it happen, that's why I believe his story in this case -- that she was a jilted lover. It's a lot easier to do this sort of thing when the guy is off guard, i.e. doesn't expect violence. During a rape he'd probably be more suspicious, would be constraining her, and otherwise more alert. Certainly she might be able to stab him generally during a rape, but it would be defensive -- he'd probably have multiple wounds to arms, chest, etc. But to get full access to his penis with a knife during a rape seems doubtful.
