How Reduce Libido Only

Post by lowlibonly (imported) »

My wife and I decided to have sex when she feels in the mood. She has a much lower libido due to many factors, I am estimating an average of twice a month. Although I "can help myself" is not near the pleasure of doing it with my wife, but in the meantime I am really anxious and giving to much thoughts to this matter.

I know each person is different but I would like to have some advice regarding which is better between Depo Provera and Androcur (dosage). I don´t want to be castrated, just stop thinking about sex all the time but be able to perform decently on demand.

Just for the record I am in my low 40´s, 220 lbs and 6"4'. Thank you.

There are plenty of posts on both drugs. I have been on both (150ml per month of d-p and 50mg/day of Androcur) and the effect on me was very similar. I only switched to Androcur because my wife and I did not like the up and down efflect of d-p.

There are plenty of married men on the forums in your position.

Good luck,

Don

Thank you DonnyMac, do you recommend I should start with 50 mg/day of Androcur, just to lower libido?

If you read through other posts you find others had asked the same question. When reducing the testosterone levels the effect is always. Not something you can turn off all month. Can not turn it on 1 or 2 times a month your wife wants intercourse. You will also experience all of the other effects as well. You need to look at the side effects and if you want and can handle them.

Be prepared for emotional changes, depression, weight gain, Lose of muscle strength and mass, changes in your body. Your love will change. Good part of love is hormone driven. Only some of the effects listed.

Most take 100mg androcur. Works well for most. After a month you can increase or decrees the level some. The changes will keep going on for months and could be years. You may never be in the mood to have any sex with your wife. Even when she may be demanding for it. May not make her to happy.

Thank you Bobbie, just to make it clear. It will be almost impossible to have "the best of both worlds" on one side to have no sexual urges and in the other to be able to perform reasonably.

Can you give to me and all people with similar situation a piece of advice once you have talk and talk with your wife and there is no way to increase her libido to the same level as yours.

On your experience, using a low dosage of Androcur can help a little bit, let say 25mg/daily (from the beginning and keep it indefinitely), knowing that everybody is different. I am afraid of starting with 100 mg will get me near to castration levels. In advance thank you very much.

Another question to the members.

I´ve read in some posts that Tamoxifen (anti-estrogen) kills estrogen and men need SOME estrogen to function sexually, thus the question is:

by having only Tamoxifen, lets say 20mg/daily, will help lower libido without lossing all you erection capability?

Thank you all.

There are some things that can be done to increase your wife's desire to have intercourse again. Like men make less testosterone as they age. The females hormones drop dramatically at menopause. Less hormones and less sex drive. Getting her back on some female hormones can help greatly. Also taking a very small dose of testosterone can increase the sexual desire.

There is one way for you to fulfill your sexual desires and not effect the wife's desires. That is what you did when your first discovered how to masturbate. It can releive the desire for sex often and only have sex with the wife when she wants it. Think the over whelming number of guys do just that. Best of both worlds. You get the sexual release without having all the other undesired effects with drugs.

Thank you Bobbie, my wife is 39 so I do not think menopause is an issue, she has always had a low libido. Testosterone for her already discussed, no way. Today the way I release "pressure" is masturbating, unfortunately for me there is no comparison between the beauty of intercourse vs. masturbation.

Do you think Tamoxifen without Androcur can reduce libido?

Thank you for your continuous support you give to the community.

I've continued to take Tamoxifen after stopping Androcur and beginiing alcohol injections a few months back. I can't say if its the Tamoxifen or the injections or a combination of the two but I now have what can be characterized as low libido. More so than when I was on Androcur but much less than when I was on it. The only way to find out is to try it for some time.

I meant to say much less than "before" I was on it.
