Phantom Balls, Sac or Breast ?
We know after limb amputation or penectomy there is the phenomena of "phantom" sensations. BTW, the phantom penis is always erect.
Well, I wondered, after mastectomy do ladies experience phantom breast?
After castration does one experience phantom nuts?
Likewise if scrotum is removed for smooth look.
Thank You

Re: Phantom Balls, Sac or Breast ?
I think we've already found The Phantom Nut.
I am soooooooo bad!

Onward! The member of the KiKaKo that is the medical biz (the one who has provided some "samples" for Show and Tell Night on occasion,) once gave a little dissertation on the subject of "Phantom Peepee" in amputees but has never mentioned Phantom Ballsies or Phantom Bewbs. That's MY limited info at present but I can ask her if the latter two phenoms have occurred in any patients with whom she's dealt. She's strictly in the Urology milieu, though, so matters pertaining to mastectomy patients might not be in her memory (mammary?) banks
She, to be sure, has perhaps the best bewbs I've ever seen on a woman over 40...'cept for my own Mom's and Ash(leigh)'s.Tasty too;)
Yoli
Still crazy after all these years.

I did, very occasionally for about the first two years. It felt as though one or both nuts were trapped in the seam of my underpants. The first few times it happened I shoved my hand down my jeans to adjust their position before realising they just weren't there anymore. I assume it was the nerve endings settling down after surgery. It hasn't happened for the last six years.
Re: Phantom Balls, Sac or Breast ?
I've never experienced phantom nuts. I have known two women who have had mastectomies who have reported some varying degrees of Phantom Boob. One described it more as discomforted longing, sometimes feeling that it is there. Can't speak to phantom penis.

Re: Phantom Balls, Sac or Breast ?
Interesting question. The latest information on this is that the "trauma" involved with the amputation of anything (Testicles included) seems to be the connection to how likely it is that you will have Phantom Pain later.
One of the doctors I worked with said that when a patient is "under" with a general that was considered good enough. What they now think is that for an Orchiectomy (for example) the best technique is to inject the cords (and Testes? *Not sure) with nerve blocks before they amputate one (Or both) In addition if a Orchiectomy is going to be done its best to remove as much of the cord as possible. (The length of the cord is filled with nerves)
So, when I had my surgery my doctor used nerve blocks and cut high (Inguinal or Radical vs Scrotal) and the end result is no phantom pains at all!

I have experienced phantom foreskin. No joke!
It was removed in radical manner and during the first year after circumcision I felt like it was still there.
I think that there are 2 factors.
Cut nerves could generate random impulses during healing and brain is is interpreting them as signals from part that is not there anymore.
Seems like brain itself has image of body. Liek a map. And when part of body is removed then this body image will adjust very slowly. Then you feel like the bodypart is still there.

Re: Phantom Balls, Sac or Breast ?
I sometimes get pain on my right side where my testicle should be, its like I
have been kicked, I told my doctor and she said its a phantom limb, or in my case phantom testicle.
I just get a picture in my mind of a oval shape in a white sheet with two eye holes and making 'Ooohing' noises and shaking chains.
Any pain in that area and I often giggle to myself and think of the above

Re: Phantom Balls, Sac or Breast ?
Recently, I had my first (and only) episode of phantom testicle pain. It was sort of like they were being pinched by my underwear. I was riding in a car at the time. Without thinking, I shifted in my seat to releive the pressure and then it hit me - no balls! I'm thinking it was the nerve endings in the remains of the cords that produced the sensation. It was weird though, if I closed my eyes, I felt like I had balls again!

Re: Phantom Balls, Sac or Breast ?
No phantom balls here. Mostly I can't even recall how it felt to have them. --FLO--
