Opinions, so the saying goes, vary. One of my handy reference books is Prosser and Keeton, Torts, 5th Edition, and I find the references for misrepresentation and mistake to indicate a decent way of solving the national debt.

Why so? Because, in my licensed capacity as a registered professional engineer, I observe that the national debt is of the form of both mistake and misrepresentation; and is, under color of law, a statute of frauds matter.

While the EA is gentler than a lot of sites, politics here might do bad things for B-3's blood pressure. Even over the aether I can see smoke rising from the ears of some of the members.....

AS much as I'd enjoy the back and forth, if discussing politics is doing bad things to someone, I'll survive without the pleasure.
