1) yes, apsragus be asparagus. It's a green element that has a smelly effect for days.
2) The two men at The Atlantic Magazine created a spoof of the Periodic Table. Like naming elements Halcion (or halcyon) and Celine Dion (a singer) and Chlorox (a laundry bleach) and Genovesium (after an organized crime family - Genovese), or Linoleum (which we paved kitchens with in the 1950's)...
