Help me cope without Testosterone
Since castration in 2001 I've had regular testosterone replacement; for the first few years fortnightly injections of Sustenon, and in recent years an intramuscular injection of Nebido every 12 weeks. Last year I decided to quit the testosterone for a while to experience being a true eunuch, and I missed the injection scheduled for mid-December 2008.
I don't recall experiencing hot flashes, but I got a huge dose of the famous eunuch calm around mid January 2009. January was a particularly difficult month with work and family issues, but I sailed serenely through it all with no anxiety and an astonishing mental clarity. My dick was always limp and I had no desire or ability for erections. Curiously, I became very focussed on the genitals of other guys and, if given the opportunity, would have cock-sucked many of the men I saw!
Apart from the fear of osteoporosis, the only down-side was an increasing level of tiredness towards the end of February 2009, and I began to need an hour or more sleep in the afternoons. I also became lazy and grew a half-inch on my waist size. I decided to end the experiment and returned to the Nebido injections at the beginning of March.
This is where I'd be grateful for some input from enunchs who don't use Testosterone. I'd like to try again being a true eunuch and forgo the T, but I need some advice on handling the tiredness and the weight gain. Maybe next time I should discipline myself to getting up early and jogging for a hour to start the day!
There were thousands of eunuchs in imperial China and I can't imagine they all became fat and lazy!
All advice will be received with gratitude.

The year 2001 I tried to do it myself. I got my right testikel out, having it bare and naked in my hand. Unfortunately, I had already corsed a severe bleeding and I had lost to much blood. If I haddend stop my plan, I proberly wood have died as I nearly fainted from blood lost. I would never have been able any more to take care, if I had cut it. So that was when I needed the emergency.
But how can a human do this without any painkiller:
There is a certain maximum (signal) your nerves can send. If your mind is prepaired and ready to accept that maximum, pain cann't stop you from doing anything.
I'm not an eunuch yet, but as for working your mind, I am a devil.
That's why I try to advice you.... It's your second time, you know what is coming. See that your mind winns that battle even before it can start.
And make sure that if you rest, you empty your mind and have full profit. Don't look at yourself as getting lazy. Check-up if your sleeping is okay, find regular times for an allowed extra nap.
As for the weight gain, There are all kind of medicals to make it more easy to eat less. You take them with two glasses of water, just before your meals. Most of them work excelent, even if yoiu forget the pills and only take the water. Take care about your water balance. See that you drink enough, it helps you eat less, and if you also take care that it leaving again, (if need catch a de- hydration drug) It keeps your body clean .Take long and relax showers, and see that you find a temperature, making you feel good when you finish the shower.
So short: see that your mind is in charge, not the problems

Re: Help me cope without Testosterone
Has anyone tried a gradual reduction of T and "wening" off of it? It seems like it would be less of a shock to the system that way. I believe that your body gets kinda mistakes progesterone for testosterone so maybe some of that would help without increasing sex drive. I also understand that Tamoxafen lowers estrogen because it plugs the E receptors making the body think it has plenty of E but also gives you the E benefit towards ostoporosis. I'm not an enocrinologist or MD so do your research and don't rely on this as medical advice.

I quoted long time ago somewhere. In a dutch instruction leaflet for androcur, I found that it could also be used against the hot flushes after castration. I think I keep a scan from that leaflet somewhere. As I find it I let you know. I didn't understand how that should work, but I am sure that this was what they were talking about

Re: Help me cope without Testosterone
Thanks nomorehotbutt and ramses for your wise words - very much appreciated. I don't think I'll be using Tamoxifen, partly because it will be impossible to obtain without a Doctor's prescription, and also because it was used to treat my mother's breast cancer and it will bring back too many sad memories.
The idea of putting my mind in charge appeals to me. I'll start now with a routine of daily exercise, watching my diet and getting regular quality sleep, and keep it going after the next Nebido shot is due at the end of May (which I won't be having). I'm annoyed with myself for going back to the testosterone, but next time I'll be stronger. I really miss the tranquility of that eunuch calm!
Thanks again guys.

I 'm glad to hear this. The moment first problems want to start, they should make you happy, as it is time for you, (and you are ready) to fight them.
Go for it and good luck. If anytime you feel in need for advice, please don't hesitate to ask

Re: Help me cope without Testosterone
It would seem like Nebido would be the testosterone of choice for coming off, because it gives a very gradual drop in testosterone levels.

Re: Help me cope without Testosterone
I didn't cope well without any testosterone, so I keep or maintain my levels between 150-210 ml's. It's difficult to get it perfect, but I use a small amount of compounded testosterone and it helps, especially with depression. However, it's not effective for keeping the extra pounds off. I'm 6' and weighed in at 223lbs at my last doctors appointment, not extreme, but I need to lose about 15lbs. Weight gain is a problem for men who aren't castrated, but it's worse for us. I wonder if we could develop a "before and after pictures" section of eunuch bodies so that men could see the changes? Let's say a year later after castration. You can't even see pictures of that on BME. I know that "pictures" are not allowed here, but it is an interesting thought. I'd submit several pictures of my body as long as my head was cut off.

I agry with you that a place like that for pictures could be a great idea, maybe protected by a password. If I see how many visiters, and how "many" members we attrack.......Up to me they are pretty welcome, kisses to them all, but not on the pictures
And you are about the second one in three day who makes my realize that I hardly have any pictures of myself now.
Shortly I will stay in Vietnam again, and I will see that some shots catch me.
