We've been getting a heck of a lot of spam submitted as stories lately, actually several times more spam than stories.

As a result, I've added a CAPTCHA to the story submission process. I've tried to pick one as easy to use as possible, while still preventing spam.

I've tested it, and it does work as far as I can tell, but if any of you have problems please let me know as soon as possible.

I'm becoming somewhat concerned. I've had several people test the changed system, and none report any problems with submitting new stories. However, since the CAPTCHA was implemented, it seems that no new stories have been submitted.

If there's any authors out there, please get to work so I can make sure that the new system is functioning properly. If anyone has submitted a story in the last 48 hours, but has not seen it approved, please contact me immediately so I can try to track down what has gone wrong.

Whether writers like it or not, it's a necessary evil now.

I tested it out, and yes, it's annoying.

Yes, you have to take an extra step and copy / paste some code into a box.

It takes all of about 30 seconds longer...

Compared to some of the things needed to get stories onto other sites I suspect this will be easy to get used to. --FLO--
