Castration Choice

Post by bobbie (imported) »

Here is another publication on Castration as a choice.

http://www.mindhacks.com/blog/2008/01/c ... iety_.html

Another link to the publication that was developed from the study of members of this site.

More reference the better for all of us. Perhaps more in the medical world will see at least one publication and take notice.

If you would like your very own copy of the article from Perspectives in Biology and Medicine, send me a <Private Message> with an email address that can accept the article in PDF format.

Let me know if you want copies of the other two articles based on the Eunuch Archive survey as well.

I hate this connection to (and I quote) "apotemnophilia or 'body integrity identity disorder' - where individuals have a pathological desire to have a limb amputated, often taking quite severe and damaging measures to achieve their aim."

Does the Eunuch world really share the same issues as a person who is (I think) insane and want their arms and legs chopped off? I think sexuality, gender and enviornment issues like desire to be rid of insane levels of sex drive are quite different and far more "rational"

I have to echo mrt, people with sexual identity issues are very different than BID. Now, there are some body dysphoric people ive seen, but that is not usually the norm here.

BIID (Body Integrity Identity Disorder) is a very interesting, and medically puzzling, dysphoria. It is, fortunately, quite rare, but years of attempts by medical doctors (primarily by chemical means) and psychiatrists have had essentially no success in treating it. They’ve had even less success in trying to discover a cause (or causes) for it.

Those who suffer from BIID tend to be significantly above average in intelligence. They tend to become well-educated – significantly above the average. Their mind does not accept the presence of some body part. It simply does not seem to belong….

The only known “cure,” and one that is nearly 100% effective, is to remove the offending body part. The individual does not then find another part that needs removal, but goes on to be happy and successful in his or her endeavors.

A number of members of the Eunuch Archive have had BIID. Those who have had the body part removed seem to be very happy with the results. They usually go on full HRT because it was not gender dysphoria that was the problem. They are perfectly happy being “male,” just without particular “male” pieces attached to them.

Someone should do a study to see if Asperger's Syndrome exists in a higher "saturation" among males that desire castration than those who don't have Asperger's. I'd be curious as to the result of that.
