I apologise to any attempted readers of my latest Christmas story for the apparent technical glitch that has resulted in the tale being presented in various fonts, some so small that they're barely readable.
I hope that the powers that be here at the archive will be able to rectify the fault soon.
Merry Christmas!

Re: Another Byzantine Christmas
I would love to learn to write like Pueros. It will take me a long time to read all his stories but I know by doing so I will learn a lot about writing and about history, and about how little I know of all this. Thank you for taking me as a member of this forum. I hope I can produce some things people will enjoy almost as much as what I am enjoying from all the other members here.

Another fine tale from the master! Historically accurate, as far as this amateur historian can tell. A wonderful holiday gift.

Re: Another Byzantine Christmas
. . .and, if Armen can finally find his way back to his homestead, it will truly be a supreme Christmas gift for everybody.
Re: Another Byzantine Christmas
I wish to thank the 'powers that be', Paolo in particular, at eunuch.org for indeed quickly correcting the font problems with the original version of the posted story, although I note, without complaint or surprise, that Armen's name could not be reproduced in the exotic Armenian alphabet. Perhaps attempting to do so caused the technical glitch in the first place!?!
I also wish to thank those who have complimented this latest Christmas story, which I assure is historically accurate, apart perhaps from Armen's path from boyhood in Armenia to being one of the Byzantine Empire's greatest but least heralded architects. His given background is based on rather sparse contemporary record, which I have used as a basis for what I consider to be reasonable conjecture.
I additionally want to make use of this opportunity to wish everyone the best for 2008!
