You bet it is. When Chrysler had the "devil" PT Cruiser ads, Chrysler and it's ad agency got death threats. And that was just fictional, Halloween type fun.

Oh what a learning adventure my life has been. WAY back when... a long time ago in a land far away.... I was living in Athens Greece, and I thought the Greeks were so stogey and conservative, old fashioned about a lot of things. The Greek Prime Minister was a very outspoken critic of the U.S. named Andreas Popandreau, he was "keeping a mistress" who was an airline stewardess, and my oh my, everyone was talking about the horrid scandal.

One of my Greek friends and I were discussing it's significance, or rather the LACK of significance from my point of view. He said that the Americans would NEVER tollerate such a blatant affair if it were our President doing such a thing. I countered that we Americans would be more liberal about the matter, that most of us would actually be favorable impressed if the President would be so virile as to keep a mistress (the President at that time was Ronald Reagan). OH HOW WRONG I WAS! As evidenced by the way our media inflated the "Monica Lewinsky" scandal.

That is one thing I really was surprised to learn when I was living overseas. That most other people think that we American's are really a bunch of old fashioned prigs, and I think they are quite right.
