Many aspects of human sexuality are very puzzling. Take celibacy.
This can be a choice in life, or a condition imposed by environmental factors.
While attending a Marriage Encounter Weekend, Robert and Mary listened to the instructor declare: "It is essential that husbands and wives know the things that are important to each other."
He addressed the men. "Can you each name and describe your wife's favourite flower?"
Robert leaned over, touched Mary's arm gently and whispered,
"Self raising, isn't it?" ....
Thus began Robert's life of celibacy .....

Re: celibacy
I've heard another. It was a priest in the early days of church, just in the begining of the middle ages. He became a priest for all the usual reasons - younger son, no chance of inheritance and so forth. But, after a few years faith entered his life, against all odds. There was just one thing he had trouble with - celibacy.
But, he steeled himself, talked to the bishop who of course could only say: "The Bible says 'Thus sayeth the Lord: celebate life', so we should my son."
The unlucky priest fought his urges all his life. Every time he took a womans confession, it was torment. He wanted to have sex with her. Every time he met with the nuns, he wanted to ravish them. The poor man had to spend many hours praying for forgivness for his sinful mind.
So, after a long life struggling with his desires, he finally died. When he was greeted by Saint Peter at the doors of heaven, he was granted a boon. As he been such a strong-willed man he was alowed to peek in the True Bible - the original word of God. Immediatley he turned to the page indicated by his bishop so many years ago. Then he started to cry.
"What is it my son?", Saint Peter asked.
"It says 'celebrate'..." he answered
