Testing Kristoff’s Tolerance

Post by JesusA (imported) »

Since the Good Sister has killed two recent threads with ethnic jokes, one old one about North American Indians (dating from the 1950s) and the other multi-offensive (and a much older joke than even I am), let’s see what he thinks about the Irish….

An Irishman moves to the USA & finally attends his first baseball game. The first batter approached the batters' box, took a few swings and then hits a double. Everyone was on their feet screaming "Run, Run."

The next batter hits a single & the Irishman listened as the crowd again cheered "RUN, RUN"!!

The Irishman enjoyed the game & began screaming with the fans.

The fifth batter came up and four balls went by.

The umpire called "walk" and the batter started his slow trot to first base.

The Irishman stood up and screamed, "R-R-Run ye lazy bastard, run!"

The people around him began laughing.

Embarrassed, the Irishman sat back down. A friendly fan noted the man's embarrassment, leaned over and explained, "He can't run -- he's got four balls."

The Irishman stood up and screamed, "Walk with pride, lad."

OK OK I give up....

🙇

Perhaps my skin is too thin, but the nastier gags get me; OTOH, I have been known to tell a few myself. I'd just rather aim them at me instead of others.

Since I am Irish I always like to say "show me 4 good Irishmen and I will show you a fifth".

My family came to the new world during the famine. My motto is "Ireland ran out of potatoes and we ran out of Ireland".

Jesus, Krister...

Do you remember the ... I think... Smiley Burnett song "Shut up and Drink your Beer" ?

...goes like this...

Shut Up!

and drink your beer. The man's still asleep 'neith the table in the rear.

Shut UP! ...and drink your beer. It's time to have another!

Now Clancey Mahoney he was always the same.

Couldn't stand a man with an Irish name.

The door it did open...and Clancy walked in.

...now here is the place where the chorus begins...

Shut UP!

..and drink your beer. The man's still asleep 'neith the table in the rear.

Shut UP!

...and drink your beer. It's time to have ANOTHER!

....ok, you all are spared the rest. I can remember no more. I learned that much at age 5 before somebody broke the 78 RPM record that it was on...I must have cried for a week!

😄

Well, I stand corrected...

...apparently it was Doye O'Dell who sang shut up and drink your beer... (http://the78rpmblog.blogspot.com/2005/1 ... -beer.html)

OOPS!

😄

WELL!

That's SIMPLE...

In America we celebrate St. Patrick's Day by getting drunk, fighting and wearing green stuff...

...That makes us ALL IRISH... in America for at least one day... 🍑👋

...now, what makes the Irish American?

...surely you can think of something... 😄
