Thanksgiving is the 4th Thursday in November if your an American. Canada has Thanksgiving on another day. Other countries have a national holiday but not quite like what we have here in the new world.
Thanksgiving is a time for families to get together and eat way to much, watch football and in general just have a good time. Some families are quite large and it is often the one time a year that everybody gets together for a good visit. I remember as a kid my Aunt Nellie eating the olives and then when a kid at the table was not looking you would get hit with a pit. We always had at least 2 turkeys and 1 ham, with all of everything you could think of right down to several kinds of pies. Thanksgiving has not changed much, its the one holiday that is shared by all in the same way. Its not political, religious, by race, (even eunuchs have Thanksgiving). A few years back I was at a friends for Thanksgiving there were seven of us and I was the only American at the table, the others were from Germany and Iceland. Its a holiday that people new to the country embrace and call there own.
Rupert and I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving,

Re: Thanksgiving
On this annual day when Americans celebrate family and friends, I want to thank my friends and extended family on the Archive for helping to make this past year such a wonderful one.
The kind and caring people who congregate here seem often to extend support to those who visit in search of help and information. I am thankful for the people here and that you have allowed me to be a small part of your lives.
May you all have a wonderful holiday.

Hello everyone, I also wanted to wish everyone here (who celebrates) a "Wonderful Thanksgiving Day" :balsmilie I remember as a child we would get together with my "grandparents" and family and have a nice feast. Most of them are gone now, but we will never forget the wonderful times when we were together celebrating.
I wanted to tell all my friends here how thankful I am for there traveling to Maryland to meet Christina and myself. I also want to thank Christina for inviting me to have Thanksgiving dinner with her and her family. Thanks, Christina
