i have no idea what i have kittied in but there were a couple computers and i think a few hundred in cash. i donno, lost track. whatever is needed, though, i am going for it. it is hard to put into words what it is like to have a place to go when you need hugs and i have so many friends here. i could not function without this place.

i am all for dues though and will be the first to set up an auto pay through paypal to either IEunuch or Talula. i have both of them in my paypal roll-a-dex.

Dues for this site are out of the question unless you are thinking of sending all the money to BME... our benefactor. BME has paid the communications bill for this site for many, many years. We owe BME a lot more than you may think...

Hopefully we won't be seeing the "dues" suggestion again.

i am an on again off again member there but lately more off than on. i try to support the mother ship as well. but i get your point. however there are lots of sites that are membership sites that offer less than we get here.

I thought that Paypal won't transfer money to sex sites. Another board that I am on lost their Paypal connection and they were pretty tame.

Hopefully you are not suggesting E.A. is the sort of site to lose connections.

For years E.A. has dedicated most of it's resources to education. Most contributors to the message board are interested in education, either finding information or providing. Of course there is the story board partition featuring fantasy and futurism. We tend to think of this section as a virtual library.

Your intentions are admirable. It is good to know there are folks like you willing to contribute resources to ensure E.A. stays alive and well...

Donations are not made in the name of the EA. They are made to an individual via their email address.... The name of the EA is not connected, so no issue really arises as to a "sex site."

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who were kind enough to donate to the EA fund. Because of you, we were able to raise enough money to:

Add a nice shiny large hard drive to the linux backup box, which is now making offsite backups of the complete contents of the server four times daily.

Add a burner to the linux box, for periodic offloading of a complete copy onto media just in case.

Replace the power supply in the linux box.

Purchase a couple excellent books which are proving invaluable in my efforts to revamp parts of the site.

Renew our license for vBulletin, so that we can continue to use and enjoy our message board.

Upgrade both a router and my net connection to handle the added computer and backups.

Purchase a supply of blank DVDs for the purpose of backing up the Archive.

Start a couple other projects that should hopefully come to fruition relatively soon.

The small surplus is being saved in case of unforseen disaster, or should any complications or problems arise.

Again, I thank each and every one of the donors for their help. Many of the upgrades over the past little while, and those yet to come would not be possible without their assistance.

There were one or two others who donated but have not been thanked specifically. This is because I do not know what names they use on the board, and do not wish to use their real names here. But thanks to WF and KS also go out.

You are truely a great bunch of people, and I am glad to be able to know you all.
