On one of our firsat trips we stopped at roadside curiosity called Possum Trot. It looked like something you saw in a dream...a dream that was proceeded by injesting beer or that wacky tabacci.
The property was set upon gravel, not a tree or bush in site. In the front yard there were ten foot tall windmills and merry-go-rounds, all carved by hand out of available wood, and were made to move in the wind.
Inside was the Bird Cage Theater which consisted of two couches, one chair and three spitoons. The stage was 20 feet wide and wqhen the curtain opened, you saw 30 to 40 4' tall dolls dressed in western style clothing.
The dolls sang and told of their journey across the west in a covered wagon.
The voices were all down by the owner, Cal Black.
Cal and his wife operated this amusement and made their money selling unusual rocks and gem stones.
Calico Ghost Town ordered the place demolished in the 80's
