The Robbery

Post by Studlover (imported) »

The elderly couple had been bound and gagged and robbed of all

their cash and jewelry.

It took them a while to slip the professional calibre knots, but

when they finally managed to untangle themselves, they promptly

telephoned the police to report the incident.

Two sleepy-looking officers arrived a short time later. One had

several small remnants of a jelly doughnut securely attached to a

shaggy mustache.

''What seems to be the problem,'' he asked?

They told the officers their story. They had been preparing for

bed when someone rang the doorbell. It was an Asian gentleman who

said his car had run out of gas and he wondered if he might be able

to use their phone to call for help.

The officers looked at each other and rolled their eyes. It was

one of the oldest tricks in the book.

As soon as he was inside, the man pulled a gun and told them to

hand over all their cash and valuables. He had trouble saying

'valuables' they recalled.

Not wishing to upset him, they got what little cash and jewelry

was in the house and gave it to him. The robber then hauled a length

of rope out of a pocket and motioned them to the couch.

''I'm sorry to have to do this,'' he said, ''but I need money to

get back to Thailand. You see, my parents are quite ill and I would

like to see them before they die. I hope you understand.''

Then he tied them up and fled.

The officers finished taking their statement. They could tell

the old folks felt kind of sorry for the robber.

''You two okay,'' one of them asked?

''We'll be fine officer,'' the husband answered. ''I guess

there's not much chance of us seeing our money again is there?"

"Very unlikely sir. But we'll give it a shot.''

He told his partner to call in and give their report. "And don't

forget to mention the Asian connection. Tell them we're looking

for . . . a Thai that binds.''

Although I didn't know there was contest, it appears he has accused you of polluting the River. Perhaps, he feels you broke Wind on your last joke.
