Ox and Steer

Several years ago on the archive, there was a posting that mentioned an establishment called the "Ox and Steer" which was described as being located in Northern California, and in which someone conversed with a woman who had performed several amateur orchiectomies. Because of the nature of the conversation described, and because of the name of the place, it seems reasonable to suppose that the establishment catered to individuals who had an interest in desexing, or perhaps who had had surgery of that type. I think I still have a file with that posting, somewhere.

A meeting place for persons oriented to eunuchism, would be interesting because it would, at least in theory, be a location in which people would not feel any pressure to maintain the socially prescribed appearances and behavioral practices associated with sexual identity. Although, having accessed the Eunuch Archive for years, I suspect that people in an establishment of the type described, probably would not show any differences in appearance and behavior, when compared to the run of the mill folk on the street outside. Habits die very hard, particularly when they are instilled in people from infancy.

Anyway, the question is, does anybody know anything about the "Ox and Steer"--what was it, where was it located, who frequented it, and does it still exist? Or is there another bar, grill, or club, anywhere in Northern California, or anywhere else, which has a clientele oriented to eunuchism? The only establishment I know of that had a clientele who had had sex operations, was the Las Vegas Lounge on Karen Avenue in Las Vegas, which was frequented by transgendered folk. I don't actually know if that bar is still in operation, or still has a clientele of that type.

I think I have asked about the Ox and Steer three other times in the last few years, with no responses, so I tend to think the place went out of business some time ago--assuming it did exist at one time.

I would be interested in finding establishments like that elsewhere in the country too. Not a gay or leather bar, but one thats deals with tg, cd, eunuchs and the like
