Byzantium 14: In The Heat Of The Day

Byzwriter has done it again! Another outstanding story in the great series of Byzantium. It was this author, and these stories, that inspired me to write in the first place. This one is perfectly done, in my humble opinion, and I hope he will read this and write more in the weeks to come. I also hope he will email me directly.

I love the matter-of-factness of the way that Byzwriter describes the event, as if its just another ho-hum day in the life of a slave cutter. What occured to me as I read it was that the new master in this story is likely to come back and have the rest of his slaves cut as well, including the teller of the tale who has no idea of that as even a possibility. Perhaps on the master's next visit he will bring a barber......

Byzwriter, please keep writing man!
