The witches believed that one full moon in seven was a bad one. While the raisins made from grapes harvested under a good moon were ordinary and mostly went to general consumption, grapes harvested under a bad moon would rot, with one exception: The biggest and strongest of the grapes would survive to become the legendary (Are you ready?). . ."Bad Moon Raisin."

For Colin...
Once upon a time in old France there was a small vineyard run by a coven of witches. The grapes that grew there were used exclusively for the production of raisins, and were always harvested under a full moon to preserve the magic properties some of them had.

Re: For Colin...
Sorry,
When you have time explain that one to me - it has totally gone over my head. Perhaps, wrong accent.
LOL

Re: For Colin...
Colin,
Sorry, I forgot that you were so young.
In 1969 a popular singing group headed by John C. Fogerty called Creedence Clearwater Revival had a pretty popular song out called "Bad Moon Rising"
It is another of my "ancient jollies" catagory of puns and jokes that means little to folks unless they are of the age of Andrew, Riverwind and myself.
Also, raisins are made from drying grapes. So, I will follow suit and dry up for a bit, now.
But, then, again, maybe not.

Re: For Colin...
A-1.
I am afraid that it is my ignorance of the popular music scene which is to blame. For some reason it has never appealed to me.
I'll give you an example of quite how ignorant I am about it. About 25 years ago I was one of the Managers of a 5* hotel in London when we had a rather notorious pop artist stay. Actually, most of the time he was quite pleasant and generous to the staff. Chap by the name of Keith Moon - dead now, of course.
One evening I came across an Album which the whole group had signed and given to one of the Receiptionists and was reading the biographical details on the back. It mentioned that two of the group had met at school and gave a little detail. You can imagine my shock to find that it was my old school and that I knew both of them. One had played the French Horn in the School Orchestra and was a damn sight better player than I was on the Clarinet. I gather he had quite a reputation for smashing his guitar on stage - died a couple of years ago in LA I think it was.
No, I didn't renew old acquaintances and apart from the title song from the Rock Opera 'Tommy' I still could not tell you any of their pieces.
LOL

Re: For Colin...
Well,
Since I am so old now you folk should not criticize me too much.
I am sure your folks taught you better behavior than that.
If you keep it up pretty soon people will think that you have no...no...
...
RAISINS.
