Oral Testosterone Replacement

Post by nutless1 (imported) »

Hi, I am exploring drugs for oral testosterone replacement therapy, and would appreciate any information on drug name, brand and generic, and your experience with dosage and any side effects experienced. Thank you.

I have visited a few sites and Forums on Testosterone Replacement therapy and have not heard of an oral therapy that works.

There are creams slow dissolving implants and injectables.

The main problem with any test therapy is getting a reliable control of dosage and finding a happy medium that is best for you.

You can try trawling through the "Testosterone Replacement Therapy" pages on the "Steroidology" website as this is a really good source of info.

My doc strongly advised no pills, due to effect on liver. Gel is great , just smear it on after your shower.

Thanks for the resource and feedback.

I am on Androgel, the one drug my insurance covers. Trying to find that happy medium, mainly to eliminate hot flashes and night sweats, and minimizing libido. Two weeks after starting Androgel my blood test indicated 10X in total testosterone to 558 with two pumps per day prescribed as base dose. It eliminated the hot flashes and night sweats, but libido is still an issue for me. Starting to experiment with one pump per day to see where that takes me. Perhaps alternate day use is next if one pump per day is also too much.

I was on Androgel and it is great. I stopped the 2 pumps when I went to the 20.25 dosage pump and had no problems and my doc was satisfied with my trt count being around 375. Of course, at late 70's in age that might be why he was satisfied. Then my insurance recommended Fortesta. I have been on it six months...2 pumps a day which comes up to 20 mg daily. I will have blood work today to see how my levels are.

I am on Testogel, which is the same as androgel. Just keep working the dosage down until you start the flushes again. It took me 3 months to get a decent dose , it takes your body several days to settle after each dose change so dont rush

Thanks guys. I was wondering how long a dose change might take to indicate effects such as return of hot flashes. I'd like a dose to be low enough to be just above the hot flash elimination effect.
