Peeling a Banana?

I have heard that in Male to Female transgender ops the penis is peeled in two like a banana and pushed into to the groin to form an artificial vagina. I would assume castration occurs too in transgender ops.

So the penis is obviously not 'chopped off'.

Correct in one respect in that castration does occur if it has not been done prior to GRS. However, there are different procedures in how the surgery is done and no, it's not "chopped off." For someone like me who is married and not interested in men, this is always an option.

I don't know why, but a 30 minute penectomy video with reroute didn't make me cringe yet that simulation did. There wasn't even gore involved, though still awesome either way.
