Medical Tourism in Puerto Rico

I was just curious if anyone knows much about getting any procedures done in Puerto Rico. It is part of the US and you wouldn't need a passport or visa (if you're in the States). Plus it'd be a lot less expensive than the mainland, I'd think. I know they were trying to build up their medical tourism base at one time. But his was before their debt defaults and zika outbreaks though.

I believe that same laws than USA are applied in Puerto Rico. Would medical procedures cost less than in USA ? Perhaps not, I had the occasion to verified procedure pricing in Mexico and they were about same price than in USA. Even in Thailand in modern clinics they charge less than in USA but you have to take air fare into consideration. So far, with all the researches I've done concerning castration pricing, Dr. Thep Vechavisit is the cheapest one by far.

Generally, yes. The laws would apply in Peurto Rico, however some do not... which is why they are in the debt crisis they are in. If state or a municipality in a US state were to be insolvent, they would be allowed to declare bankruptcy. Puerto Rico is forbidden from doing so by a law crafted in 1984, I believe. There are other instances like that, at the moment that is the most visible one.
