Community opportunity?

LAGERTHA In the very popular show Vikings is going to depict a castration. In my memory this is one or the first times this will occur in a show of this popularity with a strong female character that has a huge fan base. We as a community can choose to prepare a section for the folks that Google search find us and then....

We could create a topic like "what Lagertha did" provide a section on the history of Vikings and Eunuchs. Then we could provide another section on the sticky consequences of castration. A section on how to accomplish it in a medically safe manner. A section of women with castrated partners, a section of castrated men, and a secoction on the ongoing efforts of the community to become a accepted part of society.

Much of this could be collected from previously written blogs and discussion threads. Copied, pasted and referenced with links to the origional posts.

To me, IMHO, this body of work should be easily identified for a first time visitors, it should be informative, and it needs to be well moderated so as not to be hyjacked into personal agendas.

Really with over 10 million viewers per episode and the vast majority of the public greatly uninformed about castration are we going to choose to miss this opportunity to rationally inform, or just let all these first time visitors fall where they may?

Google doesn't like us, so the odds of any fan of the show finding this site with their search are pretty slim.

Having just tried a search, we don't show up, up to page 8, and that was where I stopped looking.

True, I searched eunuch, castration and never found the archive either.

I searched "Eunuch Message Boards","Eunuch Articles", "Eunuch Chat" and this community turned up first, but someone needs to check that result. We also turn up in links in many first page searches.

So maybe folks could do some searches to find how hard it is with various search terms.

Definitely not the first, unless you've never heard about a little show called Game of Thrones. Let's see... one complete nullo, a eunuch in a high position, and a whole group called the unsullied that are eunuch warriors. I think Vikings is a little late to the show on this one.
