Adrenaline and Eunuch's

Post by nervusvagus (imported) »

I need help on a small subject

Hadım Ali Paşa was an Ottoman Eunuch Grand Vizier and army general.

He was killed by an arrow after chasing an enemy too close in 1511.

So I came to wonder if eunuchs produce adrenaline?

I know that there is little testesterone production, correct me if I'm wrong:

The male hormone testosterone is produced by the testes. but if they were castrated after puberty there's still a tiny amount testosterone produced by adrenal glands. In fact if testicles were removed after puberty, a eunuch could still have an erection, since he continued to receive testosterone from the adrenal glands (but this was not the case with Atik Ali Paşa) The testosterone levels in eunuchs are very low.

What about adrenaline? Can they get adrenaline rush as much as non-eunuchs?

The adrenal glands are not effected by castration. They continue to produce a small amount of testosterone in both males and females.

he is asking if adrenaline is produced as much if you have low testosterone. I suspect that adrenaline production is reduced if you have low testosterone levels -- that is why there is roid-rage and eunuch calm documented. But I can't find literature to back this up.

Several years after becoming a no T eunuch I realized my body did not process adrenaline well. When my adrenals released I would have pain in my lower back that would radiate up my back. It would cause tightness and I had to deep breathe several times to relax and for the pain to pass.

Often the release of adrenaline happened at times of fear and anger. If I was driving and someone not watching pulled out in front of me the combination of shock and then my own anger would trigger the response. The tightness and pain followed by deep breathing to calm myself. I now avoid any adrenaline producing situations.

I have not experienced this problem for the past few years. As I have aged maybe my adrenals are producing less. Maybe I have even mellowed
