Michelle Obama did present the "Best Picture" award from the White House. Jack Nicholson was in LA as her co-presenter.

Barbara Streisand did sing "Memories" from The Way We Were during the memorial for Marvin Hamlisch. Barbara Streisand does not do public stuff like that.

Shirley Bassey sang the Bond songs she made famous.

And my thought about ARGO winning is that Hollywood and the movies are ephemeral, vaporous, storytelling in a grand manner. Here is one time that all the fake glitz, the flash, the brashness, the non-substance of Hollywood actually served to do good. ALan Arkin and John Goldman have a grand time int he movie making fun of Hollywood -- lines like: "If I'm making a fake movie, it's going to be an award winning fake movie" and for several weeks and 36 very important hours, two real , living breathing Hollywood execs pitched a fake movie with a bad script, no actors, a budget for nothing but promotion, and made the world believe it was real. Now that's a real Hollywood success story!

I don't think I can remember the top 6 awards all going in different directions, usually best director and movie go together, often one of the actors are involved, I will need to look to see if this has happened before.

But, who cares? its just the Oscars. If it was something meaningful then I might feel different.

River product of Hollywood been there seen that, gave it up for lint, to much fake, glitz, and tinsel.

I liked the "Boobs" song.

And I liked Roger Moore as Bond, I think it needs a touch of humor.

Skyfall left me wanting someone else besides Craig.
