If It Isn't History, It Should Be

If It Isn't History, It Should Be. 🙄

The Wind and the Lion (1975), a highly fictionalized account of the Peticaris incident is one of my favorite, fun movies.

Brian Keith, as over acting or wooden and unbalanced actor as Teddy Roosevelt should have been his calling.

Sean Connery as the exasperated Rizulli (spelling) trying to get along in the 20th Century. And people laughing.

Connery is great as the noble barbarian and some of the horse scenes are remarkable.

And the music. I hate music. I sense it as noise. But, Shaharazad out takes work.

A fun movie on TCM.

:) Moi I too liked this movie however I think it was overly fictionalized. 1. Peticaris was a man. 2. I don,t think T. Roosevelt ore his staff acted like that. 3.The scene with the train not an American train. Oh and I liked the music.:) Ernie

Absolute - a - mente !

:realpisse Never forget Calumet, Colorado! 📢

BTW

I have a hard time liking music. Back ground TV is preferable to me.

My parents were both well educated in music and my mother pursued a career in Opera, until her tonsillectomy.

I am impressed when a movie has no music something is missing.

When the music is a plus like "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" or "The Wind and the Lion", I am more impressed with

La Musica

I had been so lost with out music.

Almost any thing i do, i have memories if. linked to music.

But at some level. I agree with you moi621.

Way to often, music overpower the movie. The film makers use sheep tricks to build up the emotion, they whant the audiance to have.

In sted of building larger. more strong manuscrips. And intrusting in the script, and the talent of the acters/producers.

like many movies now where thye flash of light, is the new easy way to show, this is importent.

avangers-total recall. are 2 examples of this.

As i have epilepsy, and strong attacks. i have to clouse my eyes. and look away from the screan. It ruin the edvanture of going to the chinemas.'

So yes see you point.

Life is about music hear the song.

There have been movies where they cut the music like in Ben Hur during the chariot race however what would JAWS have been without the music or star wars for that matter, think about Indiana Jones without music, I wont even get into musicals.

But it does explain a lot about moi, (background noise).

The Wind and the Lion (1975)..

It might be fictionalized to hell and back but it is a good movie that a family can watch and enjoy.

A nice rousing adventure film with a crazy person as Teddy Roosevelt.

I don't dislike music, but I miss so much of the finer and nuanced points of it because I cannot hear it or hear it well. It deflates my appreciation of it. I would like nothing better than to be able to partake.

Perdicaris was a middled-aged Greek who had surrendered his American citizenship during the Civil War in an attempt to forestall the noble south from confiscating his property; he was then an American citizen and resident of New Jersey.
