Dave drops bunny crap on a movie

Post by Dave (imported) »

I had to babysit a friend's kids (4 and 5 year old girls). Normally, I wouldn't do this but it was an emergency.

The two girls put on the totally PG movie

HOP

Stay away from that movie. Far away. Like Neptune far. Any closer results in projectile vomiting.

Possibly, if you can arrange it, die before you see it. Then you won't care its so bad.

The only good thing is that the movie didn't say the Easter Bunny was fake.

The worst thing - it was made...

Children's entertainment has been crap for years.

Sponge Bob Square Pants is the archetype of this rot.

The only production requirements seem to be Hi Volume and Garish.

No content required.

Moi

There should be a law 📢

Some % of children's programming should have "content". ;)

Sherk movies, Madagascar I and II, Ice Age movies, they are all recent and all very good and they are not the only ones out there, just a few.

So get off your soap box moi,

Any cartoon that shows dinosaurs running around with people in an ice age is suspect of influence from the the Religious nut-cases. They like to screw up kids minds before they get to science class.

I watched two SHREK movies and didn't have any interest in the 3rd.

I saw the end of PUSS IN BOOTS and I will never watch that movie. Gag me with a hairball first.

I only saw bits and pieces of ICE AGE and MADAGASCAR ... I'm not interested.

MEGAMIND has the line about Santa, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny not being real and mother's everywhere were ready to lynch the bastards who did that. If you have tiny true believers in that stuff, you don't need a movie to create tears and whimpers in kids.

I still get a kick out of THE INCREDIBLE'S and MONSTERS, INC.

I saw a commercial for MONSTERS, INC in a theater that was so funny, the crowd cheered it... Goodman and Crystal are crazy together. I like that movie. It's cute.

Recently TANGLED (a remake of Rapunzel) was fun.

I am still in shock at "Bigger, Longer, Uncut" ... The jokes were audaciously crude and rude.

THE SIMPSONS MOVIE didn't do that much for me. Parts are too weird.

The worst movie EVER was "The Last Airbender".

I believe I've ranted about that before?

I get roped into all kinds of stuff by the boys, and G3 was hooked on this cartoon. The cartoon was great.

Now we're into "Batman Beyond"

River.

What I saw in the fifties was better in scripts and production qualities.

That's when I saw, Disney's, "Song of the South".

Some ranch land I bought with a friend had disintegrating Toby Tyler circus wagons they used filming it there.

Today they are really, just disintegrated. An no such effort in film production for children is to be seen.

CGI 🤮

:) :) :)

These reviews are simply opinions but sometimes people take them so seriously.

This is a silly movie with a silly plot and silly characters and chilly dialogue and deserved a silly caption.

The worst that can be said about any movie is that it's boring. "Bad" movies can be perversely fun - you sit there cataloging the ways in which they're bad. Boring movies don't even reach that level of interest. These movies are soon forgotten, which is their one grace. An example is in theaters now - The Cold Light of Day. The producers enlisted two genuine stars - Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver - to rope in audiences (presumably for huge paychecks - even stars gotta eat). But the stars have minor parts. The real stars look good but have no screen presence. The plot might have been recovered from a bubble-gum wrapper. See once to treat insomnia.
