My crazy observations of track and field.

100 yards (or meters) is truly a dash. Blink and it's done and there a photo finish. fast, fast, fast,

How does a discuss thrower hit the side fence in an Olympics?

Why are shot put throwers wearing spandex and accentuating those large backsides. eeeeuww...

And what the hell happened with the women pole vaulters? LIke about 6 went crashing into the pads, the wrong poles, and all that...

And yes, both 10,000's were excellent and worth the watch.

In the "Are we this stupid" department...

I was listening to CNN because MSNBC and indeed all of the NBC cable stations are running Olympics and the news comes across that an American Judo player was kicked out for drugs. SO this dig-dong announcer reads the name of the drug and doesn't know it's cannabis (in plain simple English - pot, marijuana, weed)...

The jerk either smoked it or was in a room when others smoked it.

Epke Zonderland has gold!!! It is always a pleasure to see this handsome and elegant young turner speaking, walking and above all performing his exercises. Today he got gold in London for an exercise on the horizontal bar, a triple somersault that only he is able to perform and is named after him.

The link is of his test last week.

His Olympic Qualification.

They showed Epke Zonderland's routine on NBC's night version of live Olympics.

It was spectacular and the crowd loved it.

Thanks for the head's up.

Today had FREESTYLE DRESSAGE and as much as I appreciate the rtaining it takes to get horses to do those things in time to music. It's kinda lost on me.

Team and Individual ladies Rhythmic Dancing stuff is going on the TV and I really do wonder if it is anything more than pretty girls playing with balls and hoops and looking pretty.

Decathlon continues. My kind of Track and Field. I want to look like that one guy form the SA who is 6'6" and 210 lbs and no fat.

In Track, a runner just did a nerd-like spaz-out and fell over another runner so there will be 9 lanes in the 4x100 relay to include Oscar Pistorius. What a strange occurrence.

Women's Greco Roman wrestling doesn't thrill me. Likewise Women's boxing.

I will cheer for the USA Women's Soccer Team, and the Women's B-Ball team.

YAY for Title 9.

I guess this weekend will bring this all to an end.

The PENTATHLON is a competition with a sport for everyone to enjoy.

Lots of schizophrenic fun...

It's all over today. I won't watch the LIVE, online streaming of the closing. I have more respect for my eyes and ears. I'll watch the tape delay tonight...

USA Men's team won the gold in B-Ball.

USA Women's team won a gold in B-Ball.

Last night Bodia won a gold in the platform diving. First since Louganis.

And some pretty girls did pretty things with hoops, ribbons, and balls (not mine)...

Watching the closing show now, kinda cool very Brit.

For the first time we sent more women to the Olympics then men, and they won more gold metals.

Go Girls.
