Anyone else have a PS3?
Anyone else take FOREVER (until this week) to realize that with your PS3, if you use the web browser in it, and let the plugin run, there is a PS3-only (I think) site called Crackle that has a bunch of FREE movies and TV shows users can watch?
Not many shows (around 40 movies, a few more TV shows) but a few good ones; just watched Snatch (that B. Pitt movie), it was a riot.
But the TV stuff... man, they got Sanford and Son (!?), The Jeffersons (WEEZIE!!!), some newer stuff like Huff... and then the big surprise for me...
... The Tick, live action! I watched the cartoon in the 90's, had NO idea they made a live version, and it stars Patrick Wallburton (sp?).. the big dumb galoot who was Elaine's boyfriend in Seinfeld. Nobody coulda played this roll better.
They are very true to the cartoon, and The Tick gets some GREAT lines. I love his senseless babble... the first episode is the best so far (of course), really well written and made me laugh out loud a bunch. Subsequent episodes are so far pretty good.
Favorite name on the show so far; this one mexican superhero who's hero-name is (God help me I find this hilarious) BatManuel.
Anybody else like this show? Or am I just getting old and wierd?

I remember THE TICK.
It was like mind-bendingly, gag-me-with-a-spoon stupid and so much fun to watch. Very entertaining.
It's a shame they just don't try those zany shows more often.

I have The Tick (live action) on DVD. It is wonderfully campy. I really wish it had found its audience before it got canceled. It was just too much of a risk for the studio to back. They didn't know what to do with it. Didn't know how to market it.
Sadly, it is another series on the bin, like Firefly. Fantastic, but too risky for a studio to invest in.

If you can find it, a movie staring Ann Margret as Charming Jones, Kirk Douglas as Cactus Jack, Arnold Schwarzenegger as Handsome Stranger, Paul Lynde as Nervous Elk and the star of the movie a horse named Whiskey you are in for a treat, the movie is called 'The Villain' 1979.
Storyline Handsome Stranger has agreed to escort Charming Jones to collect her legacy from her father. But Avery Jones wants the money, and hires notorious outlaw Cactus Jack to ambush Charming. However, Cactus Jack is not very good at robbing people.

Re: PS3, Crackle, and The Tick (live action) TV show
Man you guys are behind times, I canceled my cable and got a Roku, direct streaming TV from the internet. So I pay $39.00 a month for internet and watch all the TV I want. Well, I pay for Netflix via internet, $8.00 a month and can pick and choose what I want to watch when I want to watch it. If you get interupted, it saves the show and you can resume where you left off. Now it's not going to give you all the shows now on TV, but I don't watch much TV and I like reruns of Frasier, Seinfeld, Star Trek, Law & Order, etc. Netflix has a ton of movies too, and you can get Crackle, Hulu, Hulu Plus, Vudu, etc., etc. Roku and Roku like devices cost anywhere between $45.00 to $75.00 bucks, one time purchase. Hooks up easy and it works for me. However, if you've got to have a 100 channels of all the news and sports shows, this is not for you.

Hash, I'm not too far behind the times, not really!
I cancelled satellite and cable years ago too. But, I watch so little TV, that I am happy with just Netflix. There's more for me to watch on there than I can ever possibly find time for. Favorite discovery there so far is My Name Is Earl; that had to be the best written and acted show on TV since Arrested Development.
UPDATE RE. The Tick, FORUM-SPECIFIC:
May I present my belief that The Tick is a eunuch.
In the 2nd or 3rd episode, the rest of the 'heros realize that The Tick doesn't seem to understand why some are paired off in couples and want time alone together. They quiz him with several questions like
"Erm... Tick... you know that, special tingle feeling....?"
"Nnnnn-ope!"
"Well, men have 'parts', and women have 'parts', and they sorta... you know..?"
"Not a clue!"
"Did'ja ever hump your pillow, Tick?"
"No idea what you're talking about, good sir!"
Etc.
:p
