It bothers me a great deal, and I was reluctant to open that proverbial can of worms.
But now that you mention it...
Let's think about it - his pictures are splattered all over the Internet, and unless these sites take them down, or the Wayback machine doesn't file them, anyone in the future who searches his name will find this story, or others like it. It's not like he'll ever be able to hide his identity and the fact that he doesn't have genitals. Yes, I'm very bothered by it.
It's like pulling off Batman's mask, in a way, if you know what I mean? And certainly not fair to the boy.

Re: Holden Gothia news from yesterday
He will, no doubt, have psychological counseling and family support to help him through this process, but it will not be easy for him. Who's going to tell him about what happened? Who's going to help him work through the inevitable decision(s)? Can you imagine being told that you can choose your sex or being asked whether you want to have a penis or live without one or be transformed into a girl at 13 or 14? Maybe the media should do everything to keep the lid on this from now on or maybe they should allow him to change his name. Certainly there are a other males born without penises or who lost them early in childhood, maybe they should be allowed to connect with each other.

I have to believe that Holden has some stump left and that the best thing for him is a penis transplant. I don't think making him a fake penis from arm tissue will be as normal nor feel as good for him in later years. If he has a transplant it'll become his penis as he grows up along with it, unlike this man: http://www.eunuch.org/forums/showthread ... amputation
I think psychologically this will offer him the best solution, but again, maybe not, he'll be the only one who knows what's best for him.
