Ever since a friend ran Seattle's finest porn/comic store in the 70's, I have had a sneaking fondness for the pulp paperback porn novels of the period, with their lurid cartoonish covers and illustrations by Bill Ward, under the imprint of Gold Stripe Books and Bizarre Books (I loved the stories of boys forced to become the girl I wanted to be.) I still have a couple, but the poor quality binding and cover has pretty much insured that they disintegrated with their typical one handed use. A few years ago I went looking for them online and was shocked to discover they were selling for $50 - $200 per book.
Recently I discovered that a large number of these books are available for download at $1 each which is quite reasonable.

Re: 70's pulp porn
Interesting!! I always wondered what became of the various publishers of these "under the counter" pulps. Nice to see that at least some of it has been captured and made available again.

Re: 70's pulp porn
Thanks, Transward! This brings back happy memories for all old pervs! I remember many feverish hours spent in Times Square bookstores late at night looking at these books and deciding which few I could afford to buy. I actually threw most of them away in occasional revivals of "clean living." Who knew they would become valuable collectibles? Thank God for computers and the internet, reviving the treasured smut of yesteryear. I'll get some to see if they're as exciting now as then. I hope the illustrations by Bill Ward and others are still there.
