Re: Help Castrating Myself
Step 1: SLOW DOWN! Unless you do something very stupid, like attempting self-surgery without sufficient knowledge, you are likely to live for many more years. You can afford to take your time to do everything right.
Before doing anything irreversible, a trial run with chemical castration is strongly suggested. Read some of the posts here on the Archive. Ask questions and listen to the advice that will be given. We're happy to have you here and hope to have you around for many more years.

Re: Help Castrating Myself
And I will repeat the suggestion that others made:
First go the chemical route and see how not having testosterone affects your life.
Removing your testicles is very permanent. Take the time to understand what you are doing.
Also, consider if you want children at any time in the future and if you might, if there is the slimmest possibility, get some sperm frozen and stored at a responsible facility.

Thankfully you have come to the right place. Many people here have experienced your pain and frustration. I concur with others and add that what you need to do first is LOWER your testosterone level. This hormone somehow causes many men to think that castration is the only answer, when in fact, just lowering testosterone will get rid of the craving for castration. Get professional help, and if that does not work out, get a product like Siterone on your own via the internet and follow the instructions carefully and give yourself a good six months trial run to see how lowering testosterone improves your life.
Each of us have our differences, but generally speaking, lowering testosterone can get rid of a lot of your frustrations and cravings.
Took me over 40 years to discover this. Through the miracle of the internet and public sharing of experiences you need not go through the anguish and suffereing that others have gone through. Take it one step at a time. The quick fix is not the answer. Chemically lowering your testosterone will most likely enable you to be in control of your life.

Re: Help Castrating Myself
STEP 2: Plan to attend the annual Minneapolis gathering of the EA community. All of the information about the gathering is at:
http://www.eunuch.org/forums/showthread ... idwest-MoM
You will be able to ask questions and receive valid answers face-to-face, rather than impersonally over the Internet. The people who attend are friendly and helpful. Your profile indicates that you live within reasonable driving distance of the site. If nothing else, you could make a long day of it and drive over for Riverwind's "World Famous" pancake breakfast on the Saturday, stay for conversation and camaraderie (and the answers to your important questions), have dinner with the crew and still make it home at a reasonable hour.

Re: Help Castrating Myself
I recently chatted online with a gentleman who castrated himself by banding and cutting and he wound up in the ER when he went into shock. Plus he said it was the worst pain he'd ever experienced in his life. All in all he did not recommend that particular method.
The best advice I can give is what others have already said--slow down! Take the time to carefully consider your reasons for wanting castration and what benefits you expect to get out of it. If loss of testosterone is what you're after, consider trying chemical castration to see if the effects are truly what you want. If the issue is hating the balls themselves (body identity integrity disorder), take the time to investigate safer removal methods. Set a goal of saving up the $2k required for a visit to Dr. Arnkoff for safe surgical removal. You can use the time to reflect and be absolutely certain that this is what you want and need for yourself. If you still feel self-castration is the only available option, consider alcohol injections. It is a far less invasive method and there is an entire thread about the subject here in the forums where you can learn from the experience of others who have done it.
I will also reiterate what others have said about utilizing this site, including that chat room. You can learn a lot from the people here. There is no reason to rush into a course of action that could very well wind up with you bleeding to death. You are young and have plenty of time to investigate options and find what will truly work for you.
Good luck to you as you embark on this journey.
