'Chipmunks' shun pants, so did moviegoer

20th Century Fox

By Gael Fashingbauer Cooper

http://entertainment.msnbc.msn.com/_new ... -moviegoer

Alvin and the Chipmunks usually don't wear pants, and for a while last week, neither did a man watching their latest movie.

According to Chicago NBC affiliate WMAQ, Edward L. Brown, 34, attended a showing of "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked" last week.

A half-hour into the movie, he took off all his clothes and walked completely naked in front of nearly 100 moviegoers, many of whom were children.

Instead of fleeing the scene, Brown then sat down, still naked, in the front row, where police found him. He's now facing numerous charges, including sexual exploitation of a child and disorderly conduct.

According to RBLandmark.com, "Brown told officers that he had been let inside the movie theater for free by an unknown female who allegedly told him to have a seat in the front row of the theater, take off his clothes and wait for her, so they could have sex, smoke crack and do heroin."

Bail has been set at $100,000 and Brown remains in custody, RBLandmark reports.

The Classic Cinema movie theater refunded patrons' ticket money. Which, speaking as a mom who's seen "Chipwrecked," all theaters should perhaps consider doing, naked guy or no naked guy.

Dave are you saying that the guy was a better show then the movie?

OH BOY,

Sounds like the guy they threw in jail needs to stay there for an extended stay.

My hubby took the two girls who were staying with us for the holidays to see it. One (age 11) enjoyed it, though protesting initially that it was too juvenile for someone of her age and sophistication. Her sister (age 23) thought it was cute. My hubby (in his 40s) said the chipmunk voices grated on his ears, but it was fun doing something with the girls. He was more interested in the mix of human actors and the CGI animation, but he's into technology and analyzes everything. Bottom line seems to be it's an okay show for the target audience, but if you're an adult, you might want to save your money unless you're entertaining a pack of 7 to 10 year old kids.

Ha, ha, ha

That remark was the woman who wrote the story and not me.

You won't catch me dead watching a singing chipmunk movie.

I have seen my share of cute kids films with kids, BTW.

C&TL2745 is right. Some movies need the proper audience to be good. Me in my bedroom alone with my computer and the chipmunks are definitely an invitation to wrack and ruin...
