Not sure if this report is specifically credible, but you have to believe there was lots of genital torture under Gaddafi (remember how his wife would torture their nannies, imagine how they'd torture their enemies).

Who knew? Who thought it possible that your day could be ruined by a simple tweet? Well, that’s what happened for anyone following BBC World News America anchor Katty Kay who, yesterday, tweeted a report of a specialized torture technique employed by Muammar Gaddafi during his decades-long rule of Libya. Kay described the technique as the “stuff of nightmares” and…yeah. That’s a pretty good description.

Just think about that. If that’s true then…Jesus.

Actually imagining the specifics and logistics of this makes me want to vomit so I’m going to take the analysis in a different way; Sacha Baron Cohen is really going to have to outdo himself to top something like this in his new movie.

I believe it was the Roman historian (or court gossip - if there's a difference) Suetonius who reported Nero would do the same (but with string) after entertaining the victim with much food and wine, suddenly to tie off the guy equipment, and watch him die. There's nothing new under the sun.

There was a scene in the movie "Caligula" where a guard was caught drinking and his penis was

tied. He was then fed large quantities of wine. As I recall Caligula stuck a knife in him to relieve

his discomfort.
