SUPER * is the JJ Abrams / Spielberg movie about the kids filming a horror movie in Super 8 and they accidentally film a train crash that unleashes a monster.
I enjoyed this. There's a ton of plot holes and some of the emotional points are obvious but it entertains.
The monster is scary.
The military commander is stupid and evil.
The kids are kids and teen angst and love is rampaging all through it. The story is kinda sweet.
The wreckage is on steroids. The train crash doesn't stop and the monster like to destroy things.
SO I give it a 4 out of 5.

I enjoyed it, too. We never get a really clear look at the monster, except its face, which only adds to the impact. The film unleashes strong emotions.

Re: Super 8
Monsters are scary unseen and imagined.
I like the "file footage" that only shows the one limb of the monster reaching out of the cage at the laboratory.
