Actually, Dorothy Gale is 111 years old. Her first appearance was in the 1900 book, The Wizard of Oz. The last name of Gale comes from the script for Baum's 1902 Broadway stage version of The Wizard of Oz. She was almost middle aged by the time the 1939 movie, The Wizard of Oz, was released.

Cute post, but I think its a little too simple. Certainly there is plenty to despise in congress, but each and every person in congress was elected by citizens, and I fear that they are a reflection of the people who elected them. Our founding fathers were true political scientists. They knew the age old problems of a democracy, that an electorate would not tax itself and volunteer in a time of crisis, and would eventually surrender their power to a demagogue. It seems that America is trying to prove the old dictum that "A tyranny will fall by an excess of tyranny. A democracy will fall by an excess of democracy."
